surely in the grand scheme of things the design and commissioning of some ductwork (and the VAT on it) is an almost-irrelevant cost? And you could commission it yourself if you wanted to, as well...
Glaze is pretty smooth, the thickness may vary with quality. But a wipe of a good car polish inside the bowl will make even shiny glaze shinier and stop things from sticking
I went the constructional hearth route, but built off the subfloor with thermal blocks to minimise thermal bridging. The edge foam for the screed went around this.

we got ours from LBS but it's the same product.
Ignore the loop terminal.
The wires that were in the bottom of the old switch should be in the top left of the new (all from rear as per the photo). Common.
The two terminals at the top of the old switch are the two on the Right of the new one. Put the wires in these, in the SAME combinations as before.
It's the Harlequin Heatstream tank, but I don't know what mods if any they've done to suit the particular app. I'm thinking more of their zoning/ hydraulic seperation technique- a PWM-controlled pump for each zone with all control from the fancy touchscreen.
It does seemed to be aimed more at the commercial/ small school/ nursing home scenario where cascading is a benefit.
