dpmiller replied to dave1899's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
^ this. They've tried to be neat and tidy by cutting half-tiles, but it needs a bit more to rest on that exposed upstand.- 45 replies

Are they specifically referring to runoff from the *slope* or rather the hardstanding within the site? I'd contend that the current solution is accepted and have an Acco at the TOP to stop anything going down the slope...

We went with a slate-effect interlocking clay tile. Much harder smoother surface than concrete, thinner edge, much more slatey-looking https://www.lbsproducts.com/clay-roof-tiles/slate-effect-tiles/snowdon

Our inverter ASHP (with Carel control gear and inverter unit) is pre-programmed with all the settings for various different compressors. Loadsa numbers for electrical, pressure, and temperature characteristics. Not a pressure switch to be seen, everything on sensors.

hang on. This is possibly for a professional qualification and you're asking a question like this on a selfbuild forum? -
And if your subfloor is less than perfect (and your U values allow it) go with 50mm of EPS at the bottom. It's a bit more forgiving.

electric fence energiser making iMac tick...
dpmiller replied to Tom's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Mightn't be mains-borne at all. the iMac's audio amplifier may well just be picking it up... Does a battery powered MW radio tick also? -
I mght be wrong Dave but I think road transport *is* using it. I'm not sure that all the "biodiesel" that is in your B5 or B7 and that eg McDonalds say they run their lorries on is first-gen at this stage... First generation biodiesel died a death locally about ten years back. Ther were a number of reasonably-sized plants and they were run and supported by some very smart chemists, but Customs issues and then the rise of the modern particle-filtered engines killed it off. Some hardliners still remain in the filtered frying oil (WVO) camp tho

Help!!! Getting very confused and very stressed :(
dpmiller replied to patp's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
I've got our utility fitted out and the new fridgefreezer purchased. Just need to bring our current cooker down and we're sorted. The kitchen... will wait. I'd decided on a reasonably sized fridge freezer which will end up in the kitchen, and a small chest freezer as "overflow" in the utility. -
ATS did our posijoists through Leadons, can't fault the quality

the concrete part of our shared lane was apparently 35N with fibres and no mesh, it's showing no damage after ten years of farm traffic.

Oh yes. And you don't quite realise just how much real estate is taken up by panels, trays, and flashing.

relies on the pump punning continuously I'd guess. It's one thing water expanding as it cools, but a small fixed pocket of water freezing might be something else... -
Unpossible. Stupid hateful noisy things don't ya know?
