So your neighbours sh!t on your lawn and you're a bit handy with woodwork. Payback time and problem solved all in one. Try and aim for their picture window:2 points

The biggest sheet I can get is 3m long, but you can buy skirtings in 4.8m long If you were buying MDF I think buying in preprimed is the most sensible option and spend the time elsewhere so buying in skirting makes the most sense to me2 points

Or turn the temps on the rooms that are reaching set point down to force more heat into the other rooms to see if they reach temp1 point
-
Give it a bit more time yet. Then go around with a handheld thermometer and see what the actual temperature is in each room. That will start to tell you if you have issues. Let us know what you find.1 point
-
I assume that 22 degree reading is the "set point" If so all the rooms that have reached that temperature will have switched off and the floors cooled down. The rooms that have not yet reached 22 degrees will still be warming up and the floor will feel warm.1 point

It was a crazy journey done on a whim with little prep. I finished a contract, bought a 3 wheel recumbent trike and peddled off the St Malo ferry 2 weeks later in early September. I kept just ahead of the campsite season close down as I headed south and boarded the Bilbao ferry a month later. Swmbo and I returned to one leg of that journey a few years ago. Arcachon is a distinctive part of West Coast France overlooked by most British tourists. There are better parts, La Rochelle is a favourite. To get a flavour of that part of France I'd recommend the video travel blog published by Yacht Ruby Rose on YouTube. Hip middle aged London dentist and his Aussie girlfriend reveal some choice bits of France as they traverse the Canal Du Midi from the Med to Biscay in 2019. This year they covered my stretch from La Rochelle to SW Brittany, you can fast forward through the boaty bits. http://yachtrubyrose.com/category/videos/sailing-and-travel-videos-blogs/france/1 point

All bottom feeders, best avoided. I often watch the seagulls feeding at the end of the sewage pipes at Porthleven and St. Ives, and wonder why they prefer human scat over chips and ice cream. Then I chatted to @pocster.1 point

Hi all - sorry been on site all week and haven't had time to drop by here. The copper pipe is the gas pipe - runs underneath to poly top sheet and gas membrane. Brickie - you are spot on mate - there is going to be a lot of ground to make up. The issue we had is the planners insisting that FFL was 300mm above ground and then the next 300mm constructed using flood resilient construction. Our solution was to jack up the FFL to over 600mm above ground. Anyway - good progress this week - membrane completed, screeded and the blocking lift nearly complete - back on site tomorrow to finish off.1 point

Howdens currently just over £1.20/m and it’s 4.2m lengths so can’t see how anyone can do cheaper than that.1 point
-
My reading of this is he has moved buildings on the map, presumably to make it appear his proposals will affect them less than it really will. I would post a comment to the planners stating the map is wrong and enclosing a correct up to date OS map. I would not claim fraud, just firmly point out that the planners might want to check the maps submitted with the application very carefully because they do not appear to correspond with an up to date OS map you have just paid for.1 point

@PeterW I know, but my in-laws moved in yesterday & I would rather they don’t freeze to death! Wrangling over who pays & how much will happen later.....1 point

@PeterW very useful link: actually I couldnt do wickes/ no delivery slots.. but homebase comes up trumps again: Knauf Earthwool Loft Roll 44- 100mm @ £17 x 3, £12 delivery (in 10 days tho).. & were doing a '4 for 3' on this.. so 1 spare can shove some above my freezing bathroom, tho its already got 400mm up there. So, total will be 300mm. Tbh I just couldn't cope putting 200mm more up, room to work etc. At least it'll be better seated, gone up the wall & gable end halfway up. Not optimal but gets me to B.Regs (I think @ 300mm), and gaps almost all minimised. £90 job inc hatch = really excellent. Dunno how the hatch's 50mm polystyrene can be B.Regs passable, if 300mm min needed in rest of the loft.. but fatso said in his youtube clip it "passes B.Regs".. so I just hope to goodness this includes new builds not yet signed off, not just additions to existing buildings already signed off. But in theory I guess I can 'glue' more PIR or fluff onto it. Great help- thanks.1 point

86 quid for smoke. He must be expecting a lot of leaks. We paid £200 for half a day which included smoke tests, calculations and airtightness test.1 point

Cannot see how it is financially viable, unless you own a mdf sheet factory.1 point

I have solar thermal rather than PV but building control insisted on seeing something from my SE that supported the panels being on the roof. They also wanted something that assessed the fire risk that seemed odd to me at the time.1 point

I have used my Sigma tile cutter to cut 1.2m tiles and it worked great, even producing neat edges on cuts up against sliding doors that will be seen1 point

I had considered this but decided to give it a miss due to the relatively low cost of the off the shelf offers.1 point

You are worrying about a problem that won’t exist. Chill out An in-line restrictor fitted in the shower head and handset in minutes will sort this instantly. Available in different Lpm ‘sizes’ to suit each outlet.1 point
-
Ok so I have no idea the last time someone checked a flow for Part G... and I just fit tap restrictors and the same with showers at the heads. Someone comes along and removes them a week later, what do I do..? ??♂️1 point

It'll be air locked. You can try closing off all the other loops to force water into them one at a time, but I've read it on here that you feed the hot leg of the manifold with mains pressure via a hosepipe, then open each loop in turn to bleed the loops through fully.1 point

I cycled it north to south in 1999. It is a varied coast, disappointingly familiar to the mundane parts of the UK coast in places.1 point

It does compute, from Table 2 walls only have to achieve U=0.28W/m2.K but ceilings have to achieve 0.18W/m2.K. That implies 56% more thermal resistance (insulation). B regs stipulate a max U-value, as in Table 2, which insulation and thickness you use to achieve it is up to you Sorry, in that case you need to find someone who does Cold is always coming in, it is just the rate that we control with insulation1 point

The powdered lime is horrendous to inhale if you are using it and DIY mixing so be cautious if you are doing this.1 point

Can you not just set the TMV to 46 for sign off, then turn it up afterwards.1 point

@PeterStarck I think you've got it wrong there. He has to buy a quarter of weed, bit of baggy, nip down the shop for sone rizzla then hot box the OPs whole house. Then he's got to stumble round while high as a kite pointing out any leaks. 85 seems cheap for that.0 points

Wow I did ok at £200 Such a con these air tests I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t someone doing them online0 points

yup, been there done that, whilst fighting fir my planning permission I used my JCB to do work in my field and general work on my plot, not building related, my neighbour from hell called our planning officer out So many times that in the end I rang him EVERY MORNING to tell him what I planned that day, he stopped coming despite the calls ?0 points

My mate got done for being 500mm than his drawings. He got it passed as retro, but wasted a lot of time. Some neighbours can be a nightmare. Mine complains if i go out to my bins. I have had planning enforcement out 5 times in about 5 months due to my neighbour. In the end i had to write to the council and tell them that if they came out again, without doing due diligence first, i would sue them for harassment. I haven't had them out since. P.S. I hadn't done anything that was not permitted in on any of the 5 times. If it does get flagged up, it could cause you a nightmare.0 points
