The architect has offered to pay for it- clearly he/she knows they are in the wrong. let them crack on and carry out the remedial works

Any integrated dishwashers? as you will need a large chunk of kick plate removed if it’s lower. inactually like to keep it 10-15mm higher than normal and it means no checking of kickplate. No issues from 5ft 3 “ wife either

The immersion terminals, cabling etc are all under rated for an electric shower. a new MCB/RCBO is required from the fuse board/consumer unit generally via a double pole 45/50amp switch/pull cord.

How do you organise and keep cables tidy? Tips please

Use 32mm plumbers pipe in between boxes and this will let you pass hdmi cables through. -

Fire safety isn’t achieved by one measure it’s a collection all working together. -
You could probably generate enough to light a small led lamp similar to the standby LED on the tv https://www.instructables.com/downspout-generator/

Green sleeving on the earth stopped mid 70’s so it’s at least 50 years old? I would be looking to rewire as I improve the property.

Design / costs for a shepherd's hut or moveable 'bothy'...
TonyT replied to Grian's topic in New House & Self Build Design
They all had cracking gas powered showers, looked like caravan style combi boilers but no dramas with the flow. your going to need a decent supply for a decent electric shower. For example I have a Mira sport 10.8kW that’s a chunky cable -

How are you heating the water for the shower? I’ve stayed in a few pods over the years, some worked for us some didn’t. some are created too small so once young kids are in bed you have to go to bed as there is no space to move or sit down. good luck -
Need to know a distance from the house consumer unit and the garage

Appliance socket and isolation location
TonyT replied to cwr's topic in Electrics - Kitchen & Bathroom
Do whatever you want really as the consumer unit will have a means of isolation via the big red switch lots of people do isolation above, some collate isolators in a grid, some don’t bother and some fit surface boxes in adjacent units. just think of the environment/ potential water ingress etc. -
One great idea I saw on another forum was that once insulated, this chap used different colour coded cable ties for each different function, such as hot cold, flow and return etc. Easy for tracing /isolation

Would it not be easier to run some dedicated circuits from a standard pure sine wave inverter and plug in appropriate loads as required. Use the inverter diverter to activate a battery charger.

Your builder must have a god complex. thank him for the work done, pay him and tell him to jog on. any issue with BC Is with you and them. What they don’t know won’t hurt them…. -
Low profile / slim design smoke and heat detectors
TonyT replied to Construction Channel's topic in Electrics - Other
Yes, spend thousands on a Vesda system linked to a fire alarm.again depends on the ceiling finish and budget -
You cannot mix and match interlinked detection, the manufacturer instructions state this. for example… ‘’Ei3014 is a Heat Alarm with a Class A1 heat detection sensor. It can only to be used as part of a fire detection system, i.e. interconnected with Aico/Ei Electronics mains powered Multi-Sensor Fire or Smoke Alarms’’
