Still waiting. Took down a couple of poor-looking Ash along the side of the sheugh, ther's another couple to go but they're growing the "wrong" direction to fell easily towards us. Need to wait for the excavator coming to get them moving the right direction. We have squatters tho- Both the trenches of the current footings, and the sheugh, are full of frogspawn! Windows are decided on, just a couple of minor details to cofirm before contracting. Pleasantly surprised by the costings. A question tho, for the local contingent- who other than Quinn actually *make* thermal blocks?

Price a shed kit from one of the many suppliers, you might find it isn't as dear as you expect.

A "normal" internal stud wall has no diagonal bracing (plasterboard doesn't count) but adding a layer of OSB braces all the studs together.

Can't find any MIs for the Willis, but looking at the label on this example implies horizontal fitment http://www.pdplumbingsupplies.com/products/rohs-external-immersion-heater-also-known-as-a-willis.html -

Glulams: cutting and drilling them
dpmiller replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
Look at the region between 18 and 21 as an axample, the bead looks like it's just sittng ON the surface. Not hot enough to melt the base metal. You want to see a smooth transition for base to filler, possibly even wth a narrow dip where the base has melted. Have a look at the other side, and if it looks anything like that, whack the plate with a lump hammer and see if the paint cracks over the welds. -

what's the other side of the plate like? The penetration looks dangerously poor on that side. -
dremel?

dishwashers use the incoming cold water as a condenser during the drying phase so expect wet dishes if the supply is too warm. Likewise if it's a washer/dryer, but at least in that case there tends to be a specific condenser water supply valve so you *could* pipe cold direct to it.

In truth I'd already picked the kit and never given any thought to E7. But in trawling PowerNI's site recently looking for new connection info realised the standing charge was low enough to make it worth thinking about.
-
I've got a similar conundrum. I'm happy enough to go for the PV, but can't quite decide whether mains supply needs to be on E7 or not. PowerNI's rates aren't bad- 15.56 day 7.92 night and a standing charge of 7.7 (that's before any discounts that I'd likely be under the threshold for) vs a best 24hr rate of 14.59 I'm thinking an early morning recharge of the TS- either by immersion or ASHP- would be pretty good value on the E7...

There's a Yardmaster at the end of my Dad's garden that we built- with no battery tools, slowly- thirty five years ago. Still in near-perfect condition and rock-solid. Conversely, I put up one of the cheap Canadian Arrow steel sheds that Argos sell six or seven years back and I'd say in another year the roof will be porous. Absolute rubbish in comparison.

Bought a used paslode 350 when doing the attic, runs well on cheapo ebay gas and Hitachi plain nails, Recently tripped over a Dewalt second-fix gun (for the old batteries, matches the rest of my stuff) seems OK so far.

Ask Kingsspan? Do you have all the other necessary install bits? If not this pricey option might not me such bad value- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KINGSPAN-AEROMAX-12KW-AIR-SOURCE-HEAT-PUMP-INSTALLATION-PACK-KHP0030-ONLINE-778/162942848059?hash=item25f0268c3b:g:3ZEAAOSw~e5ZPr8X Bud I think someone opined that 22mm was plenty for loadsa kWs so maybe just reduce that 1 1/4" down to suit a more standard part.
