  1. No, not you, the competent person engaged to design the scheme.
  2. NI runs a separate system (that isn't searchable online) and our solicitor has alluded to about a year wait to receive docs back complete.
  3. Our solicitor likewise. And the new computerised LR system here is a bit of a nightmare apparently as the lines all "kinda" get superimposed.
  4. We are to be Approved! Happy Happy Happy. DMR.pdf
  5. 16mm tends to be cheaper than 15mm. And if required, you can get fittings to go 16-15 and 16-BSP.
  6. that's what speed controls and dampers are for, never mind the duct losses.
  7. do you have UFH pipes?
  8. so it's unbranded i-pipe then?
  9. there's always https://professionalconsultantscertificate.com/ too. They'll do anything from ongoing inspection to retrospective certification with a wide range of costings.
  10. master socket in our current house was in the front door hallway. I ran a cat5e from there up to my favoured place for a master (in the attic, as that's where the "office" pc is and is central for wifi coverage). Standard old single master downstairs, the incoming line goes up to the attic on one twisted pair and the filtered signal comes back down another, with no interference. BT guy that did the fibre "upgrade" was happy with that...
  11. Pretty sure there's an internal IDC connector in those too so you can run your filtered extensions into the back of the backbox
  12. Is it actually *your* wall or is it a pre-exsisting boundary that's been tidied?
  13. Dunno. Tadpoles are hatched about three weeks and don't have legs yet, but boy wonder and I spotted at least three of the small frogs (but long legged they were), elsewhere.
  14. A little bird tells me to expect a positive outcome on Planning in the next week or so. Getting exciting now. Does anybody want some tadpoles btw? We appear to have hundreds of the wee buggers as well as tiny (thumbnail-sized) froggies hopping around the place.
  15. There is a move towards CO2 as a refrigerant in other applications too, cars amongst others.
  16. like @jamiehamy says, do the windows not open?
  17. Or if your arm gets tired https://www.powertoolsgb.co.uk/cgi-bin/ecom.cgi?Command=ShowProduct&db_pid=44896&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3OKTwovz2gIVS7TtCh3qIwW8EAQYBSABEgKlAfD_BwE#.WvAB6n8h0oA
  18. and solid means "not stranded" eg installation cable rather than flexible for patchleads. I can't see me going for anything other than cat5e personally. If it happily carries 100Mb over 100m+ around garages with welders and grinders etc going (that's our normal installs...) it'll be good enough for my domestic use.
  19. Yup. Nowt wrong with the cheapest solid copper you can find. CPC tend to be cheaper than my local wholesalers, delivered to the door.
  20. Is it OK for the lekky meter box to be there? Round these parts it has to be front wall or no more than 2m round the side, UNLESS the supply is already at the rear of the plot.
  21. Just had a read at the MIs for the Boulder units and it's pretty useless. Looks like the LCD controller has a "fan speed" button and "up-down" buttons; however the data sheet quotes fixed flows for each speed. You might be out of luck. Which model is it and how well matched to your requirements is it? You might try a restrictor ring where the duct attaches to the unit. But without an anaemometer we're all guessing...
  22. @MJNewton If in and out aren't balanced fan noise will indeed be interdependent; either fan could be stalling or cavitating. @Crofter Does the noise change much if you open a door or window?
  23. but is each setting not variable also? Noise is pretty much dependant on flow and it's best to slow the fan rather than close over the terminal. Have you done any flow tests to see of you're in the right ballpark?
