    On cheap chainsaws- B&Q have a stonking bargain- £65 https://www.diy.com/departments/fpcsp52-petrol-chainsaw/1709118_BQ.prd It's identical to the green one Lidl are doing at the mo for £130. Bought one a while back and I'm darned impressed by it. Starts easy, plenty of power, nice sharp chain. Recommended.

    How much space do you have for a drain field, or do you have access to a watercourse?

    I wonder if the solenoid valve let by and this was then detected by the drum pressostat as an overfill? Fill valves are servo so the supply pressure dropping off coupld conceivably force it open.

    Still waiting. Took down a couple of poor-looking Ash along the side of the sheugh, ther's another couple to go but they're growing the "wrong" direction to fell easily towards us. Need to wait for the excavator coming to get them moving the right direction. We have squatters tho- Both the trenches of the current footings, and the sheugh, are full of frogspawn! Windows are decided on, just a couple of minor details to cofirm before contracting. Pleasantly surprised by the costings. A question tho, for the local contingent- who other than Quinn actually *make* thermal blocks?

    Price a shed kit from one of the many suppliers, you might find it isn't as dear as you expect.

    A "normal" internal stud wall has no diagonal bracing (plasterboard doesn't count) but adding a layer of OSB braces all the studs together.

    Look at the region between 18 and 21 as an axample, the bead looks like it's just sittng ON the surface. Not hot enough to melt the base metal. You want to see a smooth transition for base to filler, possibly even wth a narrow dip where the base has melted. Have a look at the other side, and if it looks anything like that, whack the plate with a lump hammer and see if the paint cracks over the welds.

    what's the other side of the plate like? The penetration looks dangerously poor on that side.

    dishwashers use the incoming cold water as a condenser during the drying phase so expect wet dishes if the supply is too warm. Likewise if it's a washer/dryer, but at least in that case there tends to be a specific condenser water supply valve so you *could* pipe cold direct to it.

    In truth I'd already picked the kit and never given any thought to E7. But in trawling PowerNI's site recently looking for new connection info realised the standing charge was low enough to make it worth thinking about.
