  1. They do, yes. Quote request sent.
  2. Whilst a powerful enough laser might well burst a balloon, my point was that the laser aint part of the IR measuring system...
  3. laser's nothing to do with it, it's only a sight.
  4. On top of a flat roof? http://www.pluginsolar.co.uk/?product=plug-in-solar-4kw-4000w-diy-solar-power-kit-with-renusol-console-tubs-for-ground-or-flat-roof edit : @JSHarris beat me to it.
  5. apply some black magic marker or the like to the pipe (or the shiny PHE) first, as clean copper doesn't give a good reading.
  6. Spotted this as a new item in BES might be handy for this kind of app. https://www.bes.co.uk/flat-faced-angled-isolation-valve-15mm-x-1-2-bsp-pm-23571
  7. Not as yet. Kinda put off by the amount of negative press they get tbh.
  8. just for a comparative pricepoint, we're looking at roughly 35m2 including composite front door, sizeable multipanel front windows, and a set of french doors, over 16 openings. Supply and fit 70mm UPVC wih foiled exterior and units in 4/20/4 DG with warm edge and low-E, we're looking between £170 and £200/m2
  9. ^ the latest one without the green cladding is stronger.
  10. I just see this: " Sorry, we can't show this content because you do not have permission to see it. "
  11. I'd agree with this. You'd really want to be able to lock out the feedback while doing duct balancing.
  12. no, he looks wonky from here too.
  13. they rebrand Titon units IIRC.
  14. Surely the groundworks you need permission for are any commencements. Any precommencements (clearance, site levelling and land drainage) are F-all to do with BC.
  15. but if you're just scraping off an area to retain topsoil, why is the datum so important?
  16. Any OS maps with contours for your area?
  17. I bought a £15 chinese laser measure (branded Snoway) off Ebay and I've got to say, it's superb. Deadly accurate and with a good bright laser.
  18. And knowing how unobservant many drivers are, probably a good idea...
  19. What might help, is a slight change in terminology. I see plenty of "MBC frame" "MBC build" and "MBC slab" but is there really anything unique about the product? Surely it's a TF or passiv slab *by* MBC. It's not a Hoover, it's a vacuum cleaner.
  20. You need a fair old area of enclosure to stop carbon granules being terribly restrictive, from my fumecupboard experience. Does mean dear, but also means plenty of storage capacity. http://www.carbonfiltersdirect.com/ are my supplier of chioce for carbon cassettes if anyone fancies building a housing around one.
  21. Cheers all. There's plenty in the £5-10k region but I'd prefer to keep it on the low side. Don't mind needs a service/ hoses/pumps a bit slow/ bit of play here and there. Groundworker has a good arrangement with Uhire which will be super for the early heavy lifting, but I'm thinking more of the odd wee thing here and there later in the build. I've a couple of sources to try for ex-hire or ex-lease yet as well as the couple @Declan52 flagged.
  22. Any of the collective have any leads on cheap machinery? I'm keeping an eye on Gumtree and Donedeal but there's nothing come up and grabbed me yet. Or has anyone got one they're finished/ nearly finished with?
  23. With cheapo MR16s I found that earthing the outer case/heatsink made a surprising difference, even when using a DC driver.
  24. many mains- LEDs (and not just the cheap ones) have regulators that are rather electrically noisy.
  25. stop would be on the outside surely.
