3.5 (ish) Kw Peak in Kit form: where from?
dpmiller replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
in-roof, complete with kit? http://www.pluginsolar.co.uk/?COLLCC=3715461417&product=plug-in-solar-4kw-4000w-new-build-in-roof-bipv-solar-power-kit-for-part-l-building-regulations -
Has anyone any experience of XPS Plus? I was in contact with Polarwall to get delivery costings and the chap mentioned a new option, XPS Pus. It's got a Lambda of 0.027 and is only a few quid more per cubic metre (£144 vs £120). Guessing it's this kinda stuff? https://www.jackon-insulation.com/en/jackodur/products/jackodur-thermal-insulation/jackodur-plus-300-gefiniert-gl/

Understanding building regs about stoves (Scotland)

Local HETAS installer/dealer flat-out refused to talk to me about anything less than a Dibt-approved unit if MVHR was involved. -
Oooh that is pretty.
-
I'd opine that it depends on the size of the development. Locally, most recent builds in the 2-20 property region are TF; bigger estates seem more likely to be block.
-
Oddly enough, NONE of the TF companies I approached were willing to offer an inclusive package inc. internal woodwork etc. Some would agree to offer options on external openings, PB, insulation packages and a couple would be happy to contract any and all porrtions of the complete build, but all started with an erected frame of varying spec.
-
there's a BIG difference between getting some blokey with a Jekub to price digging some trenches, and what might end up needing to be done. And yes, ther's no reason why a TF base need be any more complex than block; you need block up to FFL anyway.

Isn't that just a fancy name for a coolbox pack?

Looks rather like UFH perimeter insulation...

Did Gill visit any time diring setting the drains? Might be handier just asking him what he wants to see...
-
Based on the amount of time each machine would be used for, I wonder whether a reasonable (3t?) digger with pallet forks might be the job for us.
-
I seem to see them more in developments than single builds, along with McCavana and Unique. I don't think any are "worse" than any one else but the devil is very much in the detail. Do try Leadon for a price- don't be put off by the out-of-date website, they're a very progressive company with a very cost-effective closed-panel 0.15 wall. Kieran is a true gent to deal with. He's certainly our choice for when the time comes...

Batten out for a service void- what depth are the downlights?
-
Also worth looking this side of the Irish Sea- Leadon, Kilbroney, Kudos, QTF etc
