  1. "please avoid (and call the office for advice)" looks rather different to "you must not".
  2. Bonkers here, they introduced a local permit scheme... A trailer is only private if single axled. Double axled? You're automatically a trader and need a permit. Drive a van? Needs a permit. Any trailer on a van automatically trade. Whist permits are free, there are two kinds. Single use, anything brought in *but must be itemised on the permit* Mulit use- only for garden waste on a trailer. If you're in a van you MUST NOT UNLOAD ANYHING FROM THE VAN during each visit. Oh and don't start me on scrap. The council's metal skip is subbed to a local recycler, who is based less than 100yds away and pays well for drive-ins. Why would anyone give it to the council for free? Heck I've a guy that calls to the door to collect all mine and crosses my palm each time. no, his house doesn't have wheels...
  3. certainly for my installed, insulated frame kit I found MBC much dearer in a like for like comparison.
  4. depends what velocity is reads down to - this one only resolves to 0.1m/s and will be dubious under 1m/s. OK for wind, not so good for MVHR
  5. https://www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk/ivar-thermostatic-mixing-valve-pump-set-p-1073.html?search=ivar dualmix on it's own here if anyone needs it.
  6. replace the snazzy stuff wth cheapo UPVC?
  7. it's above the DPC isn't it?
  8. I've a handy tester that can tell you the total length of the cable as well as the distance to a fault. They're pretty dear to buy but if you're stuck I could send it over for a try?
  9. Is any of our local sand *not* from Lough Neagh, @Declan52?
  10. tubs seem like a load less hassle. Arrive to start work in the AM, fresh tub waiting.
  11. Poured screeds can go down to around 40mm, 25mm pipe cover.
  12. dunno about that, our 7N are around that weight.
  13. You could always try unscrewing the white collar to the left of the silver nut/ clippy bit and see if the floatvalve will lift out then.
  14. Yup, that's how my guy has handled it.
  15. how long is the street, eg, could you crane over the top of other properties into site?
  16. but that's the thing with an impact- your wrist doesn't feel the torque...
  17. so it's the wee yellow buttons you need to press to test them, yes .
  18. ^ my mate got one of those and it's stonking. Not sure what it's ultimate torque really is, but the motor is chunky and it has no problems with 4" coach screws and the like. Seems as good as my 1/2" 18v DW. Oh and battery+ charger for £18 is cracking.
  19. does the TF kit not come with ties?
  20. Don't skimp on a few quid for bits. Heck, methinks you'll be shopping for a new drill sooner rather than later... Got a Lidl or Aldi nearby?
  21. Northstone quote me 36p per, full loads delivered.
  22. is 87p good over there for a 4" block? Ouch.
  23. That's what my chap wanted. I offered to get in 300s but he was happy to keep'em standard.
  24. The black box looks like it's a starting capacitor and if there's no voltage across it yet there's 240v coming off tthe PCB to the motor, then the motor's duff.
  25. A bag of lime was the request, here.
