Build store are full of bs. I've known them find a product, tell the client it's an exclusive deal then the client goes direct to lender and cut them out for same deal. No middleman fees! -

If it's less than the specified period between purchase and sale of first house your good to go. Plans change as you've found out. The way you've financed doesn't exclude you. -

How many hours of free labour did he put into it? Perhaps he wants a wage this time round?! -
Glad to hear you took back up the smoking! Pack a day keeps the doctors away!

Either drop the roof windows into the pitched ceiling or just form some boxes coming down to the flat ceiling.
-
Wouldn't he need a compressible insulation incase of different settlement/heave. Especially if he is not going to dig out between the strip founds and prep as you would for an insulated slab (2/300mm ish hardcore?).

It has just occurred to me why do we commonly sit FFL's 150mm above floor level just because DPC is at this level? Is there a reason we don't use have outside dpc higher than inside especially in cavity wall construction? Is this not what we invariably do anyway around the level access opening? Also is this why bottom of timber frames are not level with FFL so no timber in splash zone at level access? Your never going to get the bottom of a suspended floor anywhere near ground level without house sitting 600mm high once beams insulation and screed is accounted for. Excuse me if i'm being stupid it just occurred to me every house seems to be 6" above ground, even when no local risk of flooding.

My god how bad are the walls you lot are fixing to! I've got some acrow props you can use between walls if they're that bad

Maybe planning consultant rather than architect in first instance. Should be able to get free consultation with a few and look at strategies from there

Will it not have weathered more consistently in a year or two?

Sorry to be of no help. How much meterage was this 34k?!

From my experience the thinner liquid screed performed better in terms of resisting cracking than the thicker concrete. I don't know the science behind it thought perhaps someone else does? Flexibility perhaps?
-
Was suprised at just how strong these screeds are. The flow is superb aswell. I usually use agilia which is good no nonsense stuff however susceptible to cracking if movement joints not in asap. Lafarge do one of these thin screeds when I worked on a job with it was tuff stuff. Only 50mm thick you'd think it would crack everywhere but very strong.
