  2. @Iceverge no I'd planned around the Heatstream, but multi coil versions were discontinued ( Although RED still use them) and I changed to a bespoke unit from World Heat.
  3. I've reduced the pump minimum to 30% and the max to 70% but with the startup at 80 to ensure the flow switch gets triggered. I've got another pump in series with it in the house, so this lets the pump modulate down and assist in managing the deltaT and I presume overall efficiency I'm not convinced that the weather compensation makes a lot of difference tbh, the daily variance in external temps means any improvements are lost in statistical noise... On the DHW settings, what difference and overshoot do you have in User Mask? Try reducing the difference by a degree or two it should then cut in sooner as the tank cools, but for a shorter time which might miss the defrost then. You might also be able to stretch the defrost period and lose a little of it's duration, depending on your ambient conditions. @Wil are yours separate or cascaded?
  4. Yep, I'm using a TS on the heatpump, all seems to work well enough. But hang on a mo... That Daikin unit seems *very* familiar. Looks like someone in Germany spent a lot of time :ahem: "inspecting" a Harlequin Heatstream tank...

The only thing that's changed since I dealt with him is that he's moved to a subscription model to search his range of offerings... https://irish-house-plans.ie/ All I can say is that getting design and drawings, plus then using a skilled local Consultant for our application which was a change of design, but in an ASSI/AONB, all ended up around the same cost you propose.

Our case may or may not be a bit different to most- we'd decided early on that we would be happy with an off-the peg design from one of the "book plan" providers that there are a few of over here, as we perceived that the local Architects either provided something akin to a developer-grade scheme or the kind of Grand Designs jobbie that was far too sharp and extreme for our tastes. We chose a design, I made contact with the gent asking if he could provide the plan reversed and with a couple of changes. After a to-and-fro he ended up doing a ground-up bespoke design for us, based on my views and requirements. He did 3d and video renderings, and after providing planning drawings for our Planning Consultant, subsequently appended them with extra notation for Building Control. Only PDFs were required or provided. Neither the TF company nor their SE, nor BPC when they were doing the MVHR design, needed anything other than the PDF...

  8. Personally I'd trust the manufacturer to engineer the drum suspension and AV feet as a system and not add any more spring under the feet?

  12. OK for @Conor, @Marvin and anyone one else that happens to trip over this searching for info on the CE-iVT heatpumps. The function of the un-noted inputs is: ID2- "emergency stop" input , used when the controller is in a commercial fridge or similar ID4- cooling mode hard setting ID4- heating mode hard setting both ID4 and 6 override the mode chosen in User Mask Also... even tho the modes in User Mask are heat+DHW and cool+DHW, the unit can actually auto switch between these modes using the settings in page U10 of the user mask "AmbTemp switch". I'd wrongly presumed this was for bivalent boiler control...

  14. what brand of manifold is it? Some have an adjustable bypass on the supply side that can make the numbers look odd
  15. so this is about 11kW, depending on configuration. The brochure is sparse on details of efficiency vs temp, is it possible that being an HT unit it'll perform better at a slightly higher LWT?
  16. no I mean can you prove there's flow at each grille? With your restrictor setup you're working on someone else's guess... Id be dangling a bit of tissue in front of each vent or using a smoke pencil to confirm it, personally. Airflow is a funny animal, I've spent too many years measuring and setting up fumecupboards and the like, all the calcs might say there will be flow but one extra tight bend in a duct and...

  18. what inverter has a 1.5kV input? Surely these strings are going to be separate or series pairs at the most?

It will work but you'll never know why as it addresses both points raised here- lack of flow in the supply loop to the manifold *and* @Nickfromwales's assertion that coils don't transfer heat in this situation. In fact, just increasing the LWT in heating mode a few degrees would likely cure it too, as I think on it...
  20. where is the "blanking plug"? It's normal for there to be a cap in place where the meter goes but it should not affect flow.
