I can't C&P from the warranty document but what is *actually* says is "the Product has been installed by a competent person who is suitably qualified to carry out plumbing and electrical work"

as mentioned elsewhere this gap at ceiling level is more of an issue and addressing this will probably make more difference to the acoustics than PB...

MVHR system in new build
dpmiller replied to deuce22's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
I haven't had an airtightness test done yet. But there needs to be a number typed into your design SAP- what was it? -
I bought a s/h dewalt cordless hedge trimmer a few months back and it's very good, just as capable as the petrol one. I've still got a petrol 4-in one for extended reach stuff tho. When I can use all the tools I have already on a cordless power unit them I'm listening...

There's a massive range of TF providers local to us, and while some of them certainly aim at the developer market, none of them do design and kit supply quite the way many of the Scottish firms do. Every job is a one-off and there are plenty of choices within each company as to what insulation and airtightness levels you might choose to aim for.

I'm not a fan of edging, I prefer just to wipe a fillet of grout around the periphery. -

Combi microwave oven? gimmick?
dpmiller replied to Trillip's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
We've a turntable-less Panasonic inverter combi- micro/grill/ fan oven, NNCF760. Superb bit of kit- grills and microwaves evenly, and the programs do a great job for pizza and jacket spuds. Warms up quick as an oven too... -
the MIs for mine stated to keep it bagged til all building works were complete, anyway.

Timber frame vs ICF vs Traditional masonry for a new build
dpmiller replied to Indy's topic in General Construction Issues
standard trench fill for us, blocks on flat up from that, subfloors poured over blinded hardcore *inside* the blockwork. One course of block above that to FFL and TF kit nailed and strapped onto it. Pics in my build thread... -

dpmiller replied to mfmcdonagh's topic in Rainwater, Guttering & SuDS
Need a trap if you've an LPG cylinder in the vicinity. -

How to fix light switch in Neff Neff K4663X0GB/42
dpmiller replied to Radian's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
surely there's more lieklyhood of the switch being faulty than the lump of plastic? a pair of trim tools or butter knives should ease that bit out and let you see the contacts behind, I'd hope /or replace the bulb with an LED one and ignore the problem... -
Discount Offers of the Week

I had an old bakalite body Antex, a 15 or 17W iron and it was *so* much better then the more modern 25W one that replaced it. I have had a couple of Irodo gas irons and they're great to keep in the toolbag.
