  1. How handy are you with a multimeter? Unplugging (say) the fans and the compressor and re-trying could be a start but lookiing at that trip, I might start there.
  2. It's more about the DeltaT tho isn't it?
  3. ours does an aerate-settle-pump out cycle, the air pump is off quite a bit of the time
  4. On mine (which is built on a standard Carel platform as used in retail fridges etc) the fan, compressor, expansion valves etc are all under constant control, and the characteristics of the compressor and gas are programmed into it. I've no doubt there's some map in it that you could alter to improve things at the frost-point (or maybe it already does it, dunno)
  5. complex to implement as you're already at the whim of the inverter with all it's sensors and lookup tables.
  6. No they absolutely do frost up enough (in our microclimate for sure) and the difference between a light frosting and solid blocking ice is less than ten minutes of operation.
  7. On mine, the fan speed ramps up noticeably as frosting occurs- from 85% in "normal" full power operation to 100% when it's blocked up. But the defrost actually happens on a time and temperature basis. Based on @J1mbo's calculations re 24h operation I think I'll play at reducing what setback I've currently got programmed...
  8. I'm wondering if this might be some of the differences that @Hogboon has seen in rise time. I'm certainly looking very closely at setpoint vs defrosts currently- threre's lots of time with a misty ambient 2-4C locally...
  9. can you factor in occasions of defrost cycling?
  10. @Conor a bit past Bloody Bridge, well before the Quarter Road. (a mate has a cottage up on Head Road...)
  11. hello there... is that Annalong direction?
  12. Loftboxes are great, as they can deal with high and low levels, and feed masthead amps etc
  13. Each UFH manifold has it's own mixing valve, use one for the towel rails... that's exactly how I'm running my towel rails.
  14. once a month? How many litres is that?
  15. but what is the *rule*? There's lots of opinion but nothing definite...
  16. No platitudes here, I was actually trying to tie @Nickfromwales down on whether something was fact or opinion...
  17. but is it legal or not?
  18. I've a big roll of spray booth fleece filter ?
  19. @Conor, you still need more rail?
  20. where exactly is the waste in the wetroom?
  21. there should be a slip layer of polythene on top of the insulation which will carry on up, and stop any chance of flotation
  22. you've obviously already decided what you're doing then- what are you asking us for?
  23. I had them quote me as I was interested in using a local product, but they were unwilling to offer the ASHP without the zone system which would have necessitated a totally different plumbing cheme to what I'd already preinstalled. In a different situation then yes, I quite possibly would have gone with them. If you're interested, call them up for a chat but make sure to have your heat calculations, number of zones etc to hand as it'll get technical... There is no doubt that a lot of thought has gone into the design to eek the best efficiency out, and they certainly are well built.
  24. You can do as many electric showers as you like, as long as only one runs at a time... Garo do a CU for the Irish market for exactly this purpose.
