I've got a similar conundrum. I'm happy enough to go for the PV, but can't quite decide whether mains supply needs to be on E7 or not. PowerNI's rates aren't bad- 15.56 day 7.92 night and a standing charge of 7.7 (that's before any discounts that I'd likely be under the threshold for) vs a best 24hr rate of 14.59 I'm thinking an early morning recharge of the TS- either by immersion or ASHP- would be pretty good value on the E7...

There's a Yardmaster at the end of my Dad's garden that we built- with no battery tools, slowly- thirty five years ago. Still in near-perfect condition and rock-solid. Conversely, I put up one of the cheap Canadian Arrow steel sheds that Argos sell six or seven years back and I'd say in another year the roof will be porous. Absolute rubbish in comparison.

Bought a used paslode 350 when doing the attic, runs well on cheapo ebay gas and Hitachi plain nails, Recently tripped over a Dewalt second-fix gun (for the old batteries, matches the rest of my stuff) seems OK so far.

Ask Kingsspan? Do you have all the other necessary install bits? If not this pricey option might not me such bad value- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KINGSPAN-AEROMAX-12KW-AIR-SOURCE-HEAT-PUMP-INSTALLATION-PACK-KHP0030-ONLINE-778/162942848059?hash=item25f0268c3b:g:3ZEAAOSw~e5ZPr8X Bud I think someone opined that 22mm was plenty for loadsa kWs so maybe just reduce that 1 1/4" down to suit a more standard part.

waterless trap? Might not survive the temp of an actual failure discharge but it might be a price worth paying.

watching the promo video, would a single big isolator for the whole house not be handier than turning all the other stuff off? -
Got a price from a local assessor to do as-built from my design figures, and carry out the blowerdoor test, all for less than £300. Filed away for the future...

try (gently) popping the rocker off the front, likely the screws are underneath it. /edit yes, looks like that's it. comparing the ebay image of the rear to an image of the socket version of the series, there are two screws diagonally, each where there's a circle inside a square on the back of the backbox.

Dragging paint PCs out from behind spray booths in bodyshops, I'm probably the winner in terms of pure dust. House dust OTOH can be a lot more greasy and fluffy in my experience.

don't think DPC or radon barrier is certified for a tanking application tho.

Went through the same process using LoopCAD. Looks like around 6.5kW for us for -2c/20c.

Not convinced the average plumber is any use for anything other than oil/gascombi/ rads. Finding one as good as @Nickfromwales truly is a needle in a haystack.

One local vendor was refusing to supply a direct air stove to me, citing that only a DIBt- certified unit would suffice in a dwelling with MVHR. Scaremongering...

Never mind the nay-sayers, @JohnW what stove were you thinking of, and have you had any discussion with the BCO about it's install ref MVHR?

True. It just seems... wrong. -

As standard white accessories are made of thermoset material, I'm sure they're good way higher than 40c. What are you going to wire with anyway?
