  1. Ah ha. So it’s a cordless hand held saw if that’s the case the blade rotates upwards so that finish is hard to get a lot better, unless you change blades, my blades on my 165mm cordless are about £12-£14 so I change them every couple of months as the battery power is so much better on a new blade.
  2. What are you using it for ?why are you bothered ? can be type of blade, speed of cut, timber type, direction of cut Quality should be decided by the job in hand, that looks like a bit cls for a stud wall, so that finish is fine.
  3. That looks a nice spot, where abouts are you.
  4. My house in oz was all glued with only a handful of screws per sheet. 6m long sheets hardly any butt joins. Makes our standard system look we are in the dark ages. I intend to glue all mine mine this time around with very few screws. Haven’t sorted the glue yet.
  5. couple of things I think will make your idea fail. The product you use as the base coat, Portland cement won’t work, mix up a bag on its own and see how in workable it is, you will need a bagged render product that has additional stuff to make it useable. Your mould size, there is no way you will be able to do an area bigger than a couple of m at a time. You will need to make 3-4 stamps and alternate them to get your pattern you will need a team of 3, 1 applying 1 stamping and 1 rushing around i think the idea is feasible but I personaly would do a feature wall not the whole house, it will look overpowering.
  6. Not your fault bud. My mother in law reckons I am always in a perpetual state of pissed off, It just depends on the amount of annoyance it causes me that changes. If it gets to a high level I put the perpetrators in my book, come the day of reckoning I will get the book out and deal with them all. ??????⚰️⚰️☠️☠️???? my wife made me edit this to include the laughing face, just in case you thought I was a stark raving lunatic.
  7. I have also been warned to keep an eye on mgo boards.
  8. I would ask the man fitting them, if you buy something he hates his rate to fit them will probably go up.
  9. The thing is the company didn’t do a good job. I did it all. All they did was supply a product, I installed it well, thats what made their product look good, any thanks, nope f%%k all.
  10. It’s not a big deal at all, but it just shows me what a complete disregard most people have nowadays for good old fashioned decency. As I said before a quick e mail to me and everything would be fine, I wouldn’t have a problem.
  11. So I’m confused now. If you have planning permission for an extension, why not build within that area that already has consent.
  12. Our site is a SSSI so every couple of years a man comes around and climbs in the lakes and counts all the weed and creepy crawlies. We have recently dug a silly little pond to accept our water run off, the man from natural England loved it he was paddling around whooping with joy at the stuff in it, it has only been dug for 4-5 months, so I think these little ponds all play an important part in the grand scheme of things.
  13. Are the numbers not height points, not necessarily a longitudinal or latitude point. So basically a datum point above sea level.
  14. So it looks like I’m going today, who wants to buy me a bacon sandwich worth a try ??
  15. Thank you @newhome that worked a treat.
  16. Morning all, anybody got any ticket offers, the one I have expired last night?? ta very much.
  17. What’s the go daddyo many going im sitting here wondering if to go today or tomorrow or if I’ve seen it all and it’s the same old window salesman telling me that their quadruple glazed xenon filled light reflecting windows will increase my life span by 20 years.
  18. @Ian @recoveringacademic The money is not important, it’s more the fact that this just shows me how the world is nowadays it would have been very easy for the company to send me a message asking for permission, TBH I would have been flattered a bottle of wine in the post I would have been ecstatic. It just annoys me that everyone thinks they can do as they please without a bit of common courtesy. I have gone from being slightly intrigued, to marginaly pissed off.
  19. Hi Ian thanks for the reply what would be an appropriate fee.
  20. Ok, been doing a bit of research the pics I sent the piling man are different from the ones that are being used on their website. So they must have been uploaded from my blog on this forum. Would a mod contact me to let me know the forums feelings on this.
  21. I find my council very helpful you can go in and use their software to look stuff up, and ask as many questions as you like, and the girls behind the counter are nice to look at.
  22. I sent a couple of pics to my piling contractor, who I have got on very well with, unbeknown to me he I presume has sent them on to a steel reinforcement company, who now have it as their banner pic on their home page. Im not after money or a discount on future orders, I’m just slightly annoyed at not being asked.
  23. So a fellow build hubber commented that he had just read my blog, and he had found that one of the suppliers I had recommended has now got pictures of my build on the home page of their website. Without my knowledge or consent, is this allowed, should I have the hump, should I contact them for an explanation, or do you not have any control over pictures you take anymore. Slightly pissed off from Cirencester.
  24. Why not go to the council office and ask them ?
  25. this is how I treat the menials, er sorry work colleagues.
