Underfloor Heating vs Traditional Combi in New Build
nod replied to Johnny Jekyll's topic in Underfloor Heating
There isn’t really a comparison The heat from UFH is a move even and comfortable heat We've found running costs to be cheap and haven’t used the rads in the bedrooms yet -

We are currently dealing with restricted covenants on our second plots purchase We decided not to go down the indemnity route and have our solicitor get to the bottom of things The two people that added the covenants are deceased So it looks like they will be able to be removed from the deeds In your case I would look into who and why yours where added If they where add by the LA The fact that they have allowed planning permission should make them easy to remove

Why so thick screed layer? Am I being an idiot
nod replied to jimmyhorns's topic in Underfloor Heating
You are fine to allow 50 for liquid But you need 75-100 for sand & cement Anything less than 60 will come up -
The problem with any guide is that while trades are in such short supply There pricing is based on how busy they are If you can get a price at the moment
-
Your probably better fixing a visqueen vapor barrier to the joists Then simply board over it

Break ins are a nightmare Im Plastering some apartments and thieves broke in over the weekend and cut off all the coiled rolls of wire Two electricians have spent all week putting it right They reckon less than a £100 scrap value I hope they didn’t do to much damage at yours
-
I paid £25 for UPVC door and frame off eBay So many people said I like your sash windows but your door doesn’t match ?
-
Why? No air will get through the tape and skim and the insulation should be cut tight against the joists
-
It wouldn’t do any harm But not necessary
-
Most problems tend to be misunderstandings Texts and emails are a nightmare You will need to sit down with him and discuss your concerns I wouldn’t get the Architecht or SE involved He will think he’s being ganged up on If he’s work is good Nothing is indomitable It could be worse He could be clueless But a nice guy
