concrete slab Help Please - Abysmal slab pour

No it doesn’t The celotex sheets often cause bumps and humps As long as your screed doesn’t drop below 50 mil on the high spots You will be ok -

If you intend to cover it with 70 mil s&c screed Leave it as it is and you can easily sort it out with the screed -
Your labour estimate is ridiculous I’m not a big fan of these online estimates Get a real person to come and estimate for you
-
Without digging on prepped ground 20m2 ish
-
I had years of having to supply it We still use it for skimming directly onto concrete
-
No I wouldn’t seal it If you were looking to seal it You would add a airtight membrane prior to pp Crack on
-
You could cut a sheet of 18 ply to size Drill it and fasten it down with wire Then tile with a flexible adhesive Probably worth squirting some foam under the ply to help it seat
-
Thanks
-
I used Gypsum contact adhesive on moisture boards for years Blue or green grit The last three or four years It’s stoped appearing in the bill of quantity So no Skim or tile directly onto your green boards

nod replied to Josh95's topic in Sound Insulation
I do a lot of soundproofing in my business You would be wasting your money doing any remedial work As already stated much of the sound will pass via the floor joists and both sets of stairs will be fixed directly to the block work pictured is a building conversion we did from commercial to residential Single skin block on party walls These homes had to pass a stringent sound test -
Four years ago we were given a price of £1.20 per slate CASH With a 6 weeks wait We finished up hiring a bumper hoist and my wife and my self skated the roof and two garages ourselves

Thank you for the replies Really helpful Hes out on the Welsh borders Elderly and quite isolated It does seem like the supplier wants him to change over to gas I’ll arrange for an engineer to go out and see if the boiler can be fixed Thanks again
-
A friend of ours Has a cottage that is heated via a boiler that runs off oil His boiler has packed up and his oil supplier has suggested supplying him with tanked gas Hes asked me which would be the best and most cost effective My answer was I don’t know But I may know a man who does ?

I may be worth speaking to the plot owner and offering like for like ie Frosted glass on the sides facing each other -
You can get precast concrete with a colour of your choice Zero maintenance

No it doesn’t make any difference When we did ours through LA The warranty guy asked if BC had been and said take photos Private BC often want a couple of days notice for visits
-
Not a good sign Regarding warranty most are pretty lax and just want photos Ours (Protec) didn’t even inspect the foundations and only spent ten minutes on the final inspection LA building control are usually cheaper Call before 10 am for the same day visit Night before for first thing You may be better considering your options
-
Our Neff does it all the time Really annoying

I like many thought there would be a real slowdown by now It’s very difficult managing labour at the moment With many trades choosing to take the handouts and work limited hours Why this is continuing till September Makes little Sense I’ve been in business since I was 20 A long time The last twelve months is the busiest I’ve ever known I was hoping for a bit of a lull over the next twelve months and wages to flatten out It doesn’t look like we will get either Book your trades or builder Well in advance of your start date

I just had word today that we have landed a contract for plastering and framing 180 homes Ten minutes away from our house We are not pricing for anymore jobs other than Tiling Till after Christmas As The title says No sign of things slowing down Which isn’t good for most of us
