  1. Think they are IP65 so no issues there.
  2. They should add their meter and 4pole switch. ask nicely for them to keep it nice and high in the top left corner to give you as much room for your own switch fuses in the remaining space to the right of the cutouts
  3. No problem in using a sub main for a PV Install. the existing consumer unit will probably need to be swapped over to suit appropriate RCDs for the PV supply and then for the outbuilding itself.
  4. Can you not have your expansion joints behind your gutter down pipes? helps hide them a bit!
  5. Get some screwed rod and resin it into the wall and fit the brackets. not going anywhere
  6. I double sheeted my old kitchen that changed into a downstairs loo. upstairs loo direct above, all the noises were previously heard. fired rock wool between joists and double sheeted with standard plasterboard, direct onto joists. first layer was sealed around perimeter and between sheets prior to second sheet going on. then wet plastered. no noises now.
  7. https://www.screwfix.com/p/heavy-duty-bracket-black-300-x-300mm-2-pack/78941?tc=MC3&ds_kid=92700058173294173&ds_rl=1244072&gclid=CjwKCAiA78aNBhAlEiwA7B76p6g9OU-u0YPHAvq9HV9xu0bEaT0Je5aTDkUMlgV-e4BQRWv0IJRMOBoCv_MQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds 100kg shelf brackets and say a sheet of 18mm doubled up? scaffold board?
  8. Fit the changeover switch. with it you can then power the house it via generator or inverter..
  9. What room is it? does it have more outside walls than the rest? can you be sure there is enough UFH in the ground as per the drawing at the correct spacing?
  10. Single storey house/2/3 storey? What stage is current build? Look up TLC for cost of detectors , add a drum of 3core and earth for interlinking , some twin and earth for feed to first detector and add labour costs.
  11. The inverter would trip out if you turned a 6kW immersion on. You need to manage high power loads, ie turn them off!
  12. Or wire a Shelley across the existing thermostat , effectively just turning it on/off
  13. For some reason didn’t read that it was a temp set up! seen a few lash ups that have been temporary for 10 years plus?
  14. Plus one on the letterboxes.
  15. Just spread a few positive rumours yourself. spread a few white lies, different stories to different people, keeping track of what you told to whom. that will let you work out who the gossip is. Just like office politics
  16. Shortage of pipe clips.. willis heater seems a bit low, to allow you to change a thermostat.
  17. Who knows, easier if you draw a schematic of what you have or some pictures to explain further.
  18. Electricity meter is easy to add just before the immersion, meters can be purchased for under £30
  19. Plus another 1
  20. Is a poor finish, looks like some self adhesive type ‘lead’ alternative likewise with the fascia board, poor finish
  21. Just put numbers 1 to whatever above the rcbos and then a separate list as per PeterW
  22. Cisco routers and meraki IP cctv?
  23. You can use them for both if you want. f connectors on tv are good as the connection doesn’t pull out! is that a MK Module?
  24. I have a Victorian 4 column cast iron 810mm high 11 sections wide and hand burnished, I think it’s quite nice from tradcastradiators
  25. I live in an old house too, but that’s still a rubbish install, advise him to sort or you will get someone else to do it and deduct their bill from his.
