Solar PV and immersion diverter advice please
dpmiller replied to jamieled's topic in Electrics - Other
I went for the Iboost+ and it's not bad. Our meterbox is 15m away, behind 40mm of foiled PIR and a reflective VCL and there's no issue with signal. I picked it up used so it isn't on the latest software; this means it starts diverting at 200W or so. The latest ones are configurable between 100 and 500W I believe, to allow better integration with battery systems. -
Plus, if the motor stalls because it's turned down too far, that's a sure way to burn it out...

sounds like a plan. Greengraves/ Millmount has changed so much since I was a nipper scrambling on the Barley Fields.

They'll deliver... Whereabouts are you? I grew up in Ferndene (off the Comber Road) and dad's still there...

I've been well impressed with our keylite polars, easy to get down from Cookstown.

Bio-pure or ClearFox sewage plant feedback wanted, please

ours is *much* quieter than that. -
I was given the same advice by the meter bod, wouldn't connect until there was a commando socket but refused to aknowledge the need for protection on it...

we went with one of these https://www.tanksforeverything.co.uk/solido-smart-6-person-sewage-treatment-plant-917500 as it was supported locally, and didn't need to deep a hole (we're clay over rock mostly). The tank is very sturdy and the blower/pump very quiet. Pump doesn't run continuously either. Time will tell how it performs but no issues with it's discharge spec for our application which encroaches on an ASSI. -
yep, a whole row of them.

yes, two sockets under a flip-up cover at the back

A friend of mine got one of those recently, she's never had a landline to her house. I've just had it on loan down at the site to check the signal (EE is pants there) for a few days and I'm mightily impressed. Download speed isn't incredible but even without an external antenna it holds onto the signal well.

Isn't that what the tertiary air on fancier stoves is for?

I think @PeterW is wondering whether the flow and return are switched at the TMV (or, the flow is backwards in the supply loop). You pretty much have to push the heated water into the valve from my experience...

How to dismantle a sofa for disposal...

the backs come off easily- bottom should be a velcro'd flap and in behind there'll be a bolt or clip each side that retains the back in a tapered dovetail. undo, pull up. done. -
Wasn't there. no car in the drive and the gate's closed.

Screwing into concrete: hole size guide

Tongue slightly in cheek there, Ian. But I do prefer the extra barbed doodahs of the more modern plugs.
