Bearing in mind that in NI and Scotland windows are installed slightly differently, I'm still kinda intrigued as to how the frames are fixed to the TF especially if they've been planed down...
-
so the windows were supplied oversized for the openings?
-
Is there any issue with using a potable vessel (replaceable bladder) on a heating system?
-
just consider that the windows attach the the timber frame , Zoot, so there isn't an easy way of having the window inside a bigger hole without it being at least a thermal bridge and probably a nightmare to securely seal.

how do you know it would be expensive?

neither back-to-wall nor wallhung were acceptable domestically. And I'm all for an easy fit *and* easy life. So bog-standard (sic) it is for us.

Goodies. Haven't unpacked the bath fully yet, but it's a big'un, a 1400 symmetrical corner. Threw some ceramics together for a look-see, as I hadn't actually seen them in the flesh prior to purchase. Lecico Atlas Smooth, we have a Lecico suite currently and I've no problem with the quality, this range has the look we wanted (SWMBO wanted a classic round bowl but with no hard-to-clean external detailing) at a nice price-point .

don't have a wooden first floor...
-
just checking ... you do have the box upright, handle-up? I've pulled tens of boxes of cat5 over the years and only very rarely get a kink. And of those, I've never had one cause a cable fault.

Once you go over a certain size/ value, NI LABC work it out the same way. They came back to me in the same manner so I just sent in a single-page estimate for the various different broad items (denoting those that we already had firm quotes for) and pointing out that a hands-on selfbuild obviously had considerable savings in trades labour. Accepted without further discussion...

Nearing December. We would've loved habitable for Christmas but are a fair bit off. [shrug] Sitrep: One side of every internal wall PB'd Internal walls and GF ceilings all insulated. First layer of insulation in the attic complete. FF ceiling boarded out. Upstairs mostly firstfixed for electric, plumbing still a bit to do. First couple of sheets of PB (that soundblock is HEAVY!) hung on the GF ceiling. Oh, and I'm sold on MVHR. Was working on a diesel spaceheater for a customer last weekend. Ran it for an hour in the hallway. 17c downstairs, stifling on the balcony. 7c outside that night. Supply air 15+c. Impressive.

The Siga Sicrall sticks well enough to pull individual beads out of the EPS.

I'll check for you today on some EPS, but the Siga stuff we're using seems to stick like sh*t on a blanket, to everything...

Plastic vs Copper pipes for radiators
dpmiller replied to Raks's topic in Central Heating (Radiators)
looks like it concentrates any forces on the pipe very close to the fitting on the valve. No thanks... -
Anyone see these kind of radiators and valves in the UK?
dpmiller replied to Raks's topic in Central Heating (Radiators)
Stelrad (Vita Eco) and Myson (T6 compact) both have centre-valve offerings. -
