  1. Have you looked what you can do with permitted development ? Probably 90% of that monstrosity you could build without planning.
  2. you need to see each panel output, depending on how its setup you could have a string or strings of panels not working.
  3. does sound low to me, i have 3.885 of PV and its been grey all week, still made 6.4kwh today though. Could be a string of them is not working giving the poor results ? Can you login to the inverter and see each panel ?
  4. apart from being a rip off, do you already have heavily insulated underfloor heating ? If not are they replacing your radiators for ones at least double the size ? Be very very careful going forward with this as you could freeze.
  5. so material increase is what they said it was £300 on 4k bill. The part you are having an issue with is the £420 for lifting a steel ? Without knowing the breakdown its not possible to say if its reasonable for them to store materials on your site at their cost to save you £300. You could pay the bill and exclude that, good luck with ever getting them back to site though should anything need sorting in the future. Some poeple are never pleased mind.
  6. Did they have reason to work over your side where the damage was caused ? Did they walk over it etc? Hows the breakdown of £1900 come about ? to re-lead a valley a £1000 sounds a lot. Yes the new tiles stand out like a sore thumb but that roof is crap anyway. May want to get in touch with your house insurers as you may have cover, ask next door for the contact details as you will be passing onto your insurance company.
  7. mistake was glueing it down. Should be left floating with a decent underlay to stop it sucking moisture from the slab/screed.
  8. any reason for wanting lead, is it on show ? edrp would be a cheaper option with more trades that are familiar with it.
  9. claim against the architect who charged you £25k ?
  10. no i meant the bottom picture showing a chamber.
  11. option 2 for sure, you can use a small chamber. It will make the install a lot easier and give you the option of rodding both directions should it ever be needed.
  12. for me id want the top 4 rows off and doing again so they sit flat. It does sound like they are out of their depth here, may be worth having the conversation to get in someone who knows what they are doing as its not a run of the mill tiling job?
  13. have to say I agree with them, thats a poor design.
  14. there is no math that will make a heat pump more economical than mains gas. The eco argument is a separate issue.
  15. hope HSE dont pay you a visit thats some shocking poor scaff.
  16. could you quote the relevant section to enlighten us wrongdoers.
  17. its not a days job so lets put that aside. To sort it out properly and permantly, ie 15 years, will take a weeks work from a skilled team. anything less than £5k and you wont be getting that.
  18. You have to factor the cost of mains sewer connection into the house price which is why you bought it and not a builder. Sorry for the bad news but there it is.
  19. i congratulate you prodave, you have put your time and effort into a niche solution that works for you.
  20. "Building Regs will be ensuring it happens in 2025." Im not so sure that will happen, there is very much doubt in the industry. So what is the answer then Dave? By the way, the question is "how do you bring net zero heating to Housing in the UK?" Who says "net zero" is even possible ? Sacrifice the UK economy on the alter of carbon neutral while the rest of the world, ie China, does what it likes ? One thing is for sure, the Conservative party wont be winning any elections by mass installing heat pumps and freezing OAP's to death. It will be kicked into the long grass.
  21. no use 32mm its same price. The water supplier will tell you exactly what they require you to do and will inspect that you have done it prior to connecting you.
  22. nail gun ........
  23. good opportunity! warm roof. alutrix + edpm
  24. and i thank you for that. "I cannot keep quiet even when I am a lone voice" Mahathir Ghandi
