  1. I changed the design of mine so they were hidden in the wall thickness. No Brainer that's what all of us have done and that the brucey bonus with an insulated slab. I put a bit of EPS in there around 110mm soil pipe so I can dig it out later and do exactly as @Onoff says.
  2. Yes they will. I have an uponor staple gun and used wunda system.
  3. I'm working on this basis also. Bc seemed fine in call about it.
  4. @BenP did you manage to do a breakdown? also did most select the normal intello or the plus version. Only difference I think I can see I that the plus is reinforced? I assume if you are blowing in insulation? I have SIPS so guessing the standard stuff would be OK? @LA3222 what did you sure?
  5. Are the pipes empty and house up? I have my pipes in my insulated foundation, installed in April and have never had water or anything in them yet. House is up now and windows doors in, but no heating or anything else and I'm not planning putting anything in them. If there is no water why add it?
  6. It's all about the detailing...you know it.
  7. I have them on my Fakro windows...none installed with suckered so all must be from Factory. Can see two distinctive suckered in each. I will probably try a clay bar at some point or some detailing stuff I use for my car...or we'll used to before I had kiss and decided to build a house.
  8. I just installed Zyle Fenster 3g timber framed Aluclad supplied by Ecowin who is @craig on here. Plenty happy with the quality. I have black internally and externally. I had most of the slates on when wi down went in but if I didn't I wouldn't have been bothered. Plenty clearance at 10mm all round. Thats 4.6m wide and bottom 2.4m slider high
  9. Not sure about width but a lot of people order from Germany. This is a good thread.
  10. I currently have a borehole drilled 120m deep...had a temporary pump for a while as a test pump but they took it away. I have render guys coming this week so currently have a cube filled at my mates farm sat up on a few pallets at the moment. ?
  11. I ordered off drawings. All fine with no hassles, I just ensured the kit erectors had the correct structural openings once they completed.
  12. Great advice and very true. Interested to know what cladding you used? Looks like larch but a nice red tinge. Also who done your borehole and treatment...I jave a 120m low yield borehole ( which made me cry) and now need to sort the treatment and pumo which is basic but the borehole suppliers price jumped from 4k to 9k for that part as they have to travel so far.
  13. Jesus that's impressive. Very very cool and mahassive! Very tidy also.
  14. I wouldn't order at the moment. That's not even price driven, more that yiu won't really know the final openings till you do. Things change...even fixed openings. Plus it will come down... timber is looking to start coming down now.
  15. This really depends on what the outbuilding is to be used for? I assume a nice living space given you want decking, hence insulation might be better. But again all relates to what you want to use the space for.
  16. I have just bought 100m2 of Cedral click in black. Not started fitting yet but looks good quality and seems to be the go to for most. Can advise in a few weeks hopefully!
  17. It'll be fine..no hassles. Wire in.
  18. I have a lazy spa which is the council version....its horrifically expensive to run especially during the winter. I estimate 60 quid a month in summer up to 120 in winter depending on usage. Proper hot tips are cheaper as they are better insulated. I do like a hot tub though, nice just sitting out looking at the stars
  19. Anything tunnocks. I had two tea cakes today ...the dark chocolate ones though. A regular lunch I keep at the plot in the container is a snowball (favourite) or wafer.
  20. I have a red 32mm solid duct, which was supplied by them so yep! I expect even if I used ply whomever turned up won't care, when they came to put the cable in under ground I was on the limit of the 60m allowed from transformer, but I ended up adding 10-15m going around the plot edge rather than across it so I can build another house in the garden in 30 years which nobody batted an eye lif at, in fact it was their idea.. By the way tunnocks is standard protocol up here....
  21. I had this issue once, old cavity wall house we had insulation blown into the cavity then I jad a recurring issue where there used to be a fireplace it had no damp but I was getting effervescence through new plaster in the end we used a specialist salt treatment which was painted on and solved the issue.
  22. I have SPEN coming next Monday....I deliberated what to get for it but just bought the Wooton backboard from CEF it's 18 x 12 inches or 500 x 300mm in proper money. Sure it'll be fine. It's like the have provided a spec for something that doesn't exist or is readily available in the right size
  23. Wood is onky squeaky if its built rubbish.
  24. I think options like this are overcomplicated. The effects of different UFH zones and high levels of automation in a highly insulated house with MVHR add not very significant levels of value for the amount of effort. Keep it simple, as few zones as possible and enjoy your time in your house rather than constantly managing systems. I have no UFH upstairs, 11 loops downstairs with 4 zones. Zone 1 - big open plan kitchen living room area with a glazed gable, Zones 2 - donwstairs bathroom, dimply as I'd like a warm floor in there. zone 3 - everywhere else downstairs within within house. Zone 4 - which is my integral garage but rhats only like that so in future if I turn it into a room I can control it.
  25. I had this concern. Talk to the building control after chasing fire service in circles. There is specific wording in that if each floor of your house is less than 100m2 you don't nees storageas likely they have enough storage on the appliance. I was 400m from a hydrant and the local service just said if need be they would have 2 and relay water if required. Took me months to find the answer but apparently part of local planning rules.
