    prepare for that to double come the winter. Investigate if you can replace it with a gas combi, british gas new connections are set at £850 now.

    not seeing that anywhere for 110mm pipe and it says recommended for 100mm pipe. 1/pipe diameter is accepted by severn trent.

    so where did they stop the insulation ? Was it 75mm below finished floor ? From what you have found it sounds like 30mm below finished floor. Either way the buildup of the floor is wrong. What does building control have to say? 150mm insulation doesnt work brick.

    you only need to notify the council that demolition is taking place. The paperwork exercise is entirely up to you and how long you take to drop the building. When I did it, notified council to discharge legal responsibility and building down in a day. really didn't have time for lots of typing and paperwork.

    just to jump in on this thread. new build, external soil pipes look like dog crap. internal boxing the same. lose them in studwork if at all possible.

    3 do look better in my opinion but put the 2 top ones at the top in fire door fashion. Just looks more thought about.

    a pumped chamber isnt the end of the world at all. you wont hear it. They come with an alarm should the pump fail. Before you do that, have the builder bring the laser and laser from the nearest sewr invert to your house and add 13mm per M is ifs close then you are allowed to use 1/pipe diameter.

    the builder has buggered up the build-up so there isn't enough height for the correct amount of screed. block and beam + insulation + screed = 325mm this has to sit on blocks (which sit on conc) and doesn't work brick so they have to bed them up. not many know how to do this properly so don't bother bedding up the blocks and you end up with a FFL 30-40mm less than it needs to be as you have found out.

    so do you have a warm roof or a cold roof ? sounds like you have a cold roof. This means it needs to breath under the tiles. 50mm clear gap underneath the tiles and no blocked soffet.

    had a Powerwall installed a few years ago. Have 3.85kw of solar on the off on the original FIT so it has already paid for itself many times over. For the winter I am on a time of day tariff so the Powerwall charges itself up when its very cheap and provides power when rates are expensive. Very pleased with it but if it wasnt for the solar FIT it would take many many years to pay for itself.

    talk to the people you use for muck aways they often sell cheaper recycled stone. Dig down 250 if you can and base of 150mm of 40-70mm clean, roll or wacker than top it off with 100mm of type 3 (recycled is good).

    looks good! A cheap float to make a nice finish, if you have a multitool tape it to a length of 2x2 or 4x2 to use as a handle then screw another piece on the end the width of your pad. The vibration will make the conc come up lovely. Wait a bit till its sets a little and the water comes to top.

    depending on the type and depth of clay a bog standard normal strip foot can be used. I thought you were intimating a KORE foundation could be a substitute where depths of 2.5m or more were needed which a standard foundation becomes unviable or there are trees in the vicinity.

    there isnt any doubt they are efficient but their limits make them very poor alternatives to gas combi's which is why they will never go mainstream. People moving into new builds with one will be in for a rude shock. Second shower before work for the mrs, cold water, third for kids , cold water. 7 years in oh its packed up you need a new one sir that will be £10k. Boilers will never stop being installed as they are a far superior product.

    have a vertical dpc/tray all the way round. ffl and outside can be the same then.
