  1. Had to look that up? Read The F*cuking Manual
  2. Asking for a friend, the local community volunteers have a 6 month lease on what until a month or so ago was a branch of the Clydesdale Bank. They have the lights, hot water and toilets working but not the heating. It’s vents in the ceiling and there’s no plant to be seen so assume it’s all above the suspended ceiling. some pictures that wise folk might be able to decipher @Nickfromwales @Onoff @PeterW @ProDave
  3. Great looking building hope you enjoy it. has it got those mini toilets you sometimes get for little people in schools ??
  4. Nah...you’ve just copied some pictures from a magazine or a holiday website?
  5. It’s in the wrong place and where I want the hard wire to go means up into the loft and down into the room with the router and server. some say just run a telephone extension from the socket to the new location. It’s literally next door but the wall is 600mm thick so to route through an already made passage it’s about 4/5m of cable run. Dont care much what it looks as it’s my charity working office but question is... run extension or splice/join the incoming BT cable and move the master socket. It’s a series 5 socket I believe needs to be complete by Friday so no option of calling Openreach. If you know what cable do I need and where to buy it easily for Friday? Thanks folks
  6. Welcome Puff the magic...
  7. To me this is the pose of a happy man admiringly contemplating his reward for making a good job complete, just like our famous @Onoff and @pocster with a little Teutonic swell from @retiredacademic
  8. Yes my three bed extended semi is around 110 sq/m and perfectly comfortable three beds, two bathrooms, kitchen, utility and living/diner 185 will be a nice big size without too much cleaning area you don’t need???

  13. Set up nicely wasn’t it? Very wet and windy at Murryfield as both teams struggle with tactics...come on Scotland!
  14. A Dr Who fan would get some detailing added to that glass and a nice flashing light for the top? nice big space underneath though
  15. Welcome @Delicatedave no reason why anyone would delete you...? you haven’t done anything wrong yet?

  21. Scottish ?
  22. Hmmm... I like 85?
  23. More insulation than my hut yours has. Mine is toasty warm but does have a fierce wood burner inside. I’d say airtightness is more important so make sure the floor walls and roof are well wrapped and you’ll be good

  25. Keny Drew http://www.eastneukglass.com/commissions/4593413321 I know you like ’good value’ @ProDave but reckon a commission this size will be ££££ If you do a full weekend workshop you can learn the basics and then maybe make your window in three squarish sections. Its all about what you want...simple coloured glass is fairly easy but if you want painted insert add more time and expense. On my second trip I made a combination of leaded glass with a fused glass insert, this is layers of glass laid on top of each other ( keeping the edge a single layer to it fits into the leaded beading) and then melting it overnight so it becomes one piece. A mixture of colours, glass rods for straight lines (like glass spaghetti) and ground glass in various mixtures for texture. It looked fantastic but this is a craft that takes time. Keny is a friend of a friend but one of the nicest most helpful guys you’ll meet. Give him a call or book a course with the missus. There are a few specialist tools/machines that won’t be worth buying for one (or 3) windows. For instance the wet tray grounding machine that allows you to smooth the edges of cut glass, it also lets you cut U shapes that are near impossible to do by hand. Another one is the stretching thing that is miraculous...put the H shaped lead in it and give it a good tug and the bead transforms into a super straight and taught strip ideal for forming. Finally, I’d be disappointed with an angular stained glass as a feature and once you have seen glass painting (think of the church ones you have seen) or fusing you will definitely need a furnace or use of one.
