  1. Very few of the old names left now - Twyfords is now part of Geberit so it will be interesting to see if that makes all the Twyford stuff standardised on Geberit internals.
  2. Wunda now use Esbe valves which are pretty bullet proof when I've used them as load valves. I asked the question a month or two back as my target temp is 31c and got this response : The temperature range for the ESBE valve on the manifold in question is 30 degrees to 70 degrees. HTH
  3. Just the one fence panel apparently but the station up the road recorded 97kmh wind ..! looks like the Derwent Dam was a bit blowy too today..!
  4. My understanding is that Tetris has to be complete too - it gains strength from the whole structure so the XPS works as the blocks. As I said - just worth checking with a manufacturer before modifying a significant structural element ..!
  5. He makes most of his money selling building plots for vastly inflated prices in the East Midlands ... Come across a few of his - usually with a dodgy "standard" design house approved ..!
  6. Check with SE and beam supplier on that - the strength in a BB floor comes from the blocks and the beams and you're not supposed to leave voids unless absolutely necessary (soil stack etc) or as agreed with the supplier.
  7. Fireline once skimmed is nearly as expensive as fermacell - and one 15mm panel gives you the 60 minute fire protection you need and you can hang cabinets off it. You cannot do that with plasterboard ... fermacell is also an easy DIY job too.
  8. Your newt super highway should be a nice shade of green with the odd red fleck .....
  9. I thought that and I've just gone down the route of ordering PiR from Seconds and Co as they had an offer on - £24 for 123/128mm which is 20% better than any of the merchants or online guys could do and it's cosmetic seconds only. May well put 50mm of EPS under it too instead of sand blinding as its cheap as chips ...
  10. Ducting is your friend assuming you've got the usual electric, water and 'phone going in... From the previous discussions, dig it 750mm deep x 300mm wide and lob the water duct in. Back fill to 450mm and chuck power on the left and telco on the right and back fill the trench. Job done, and Robert's your granddads son...
  11. I think the issue here is that there are gas jubilee clips and ordinary ones..! Gas ones have a smooth internal surface and the "worm" compresses a slotted band over the top of the inner band - they don't cut into the pipe. Using a "standard" hose clip you can damage the hose and that's where the issue lies. I've checked with my pet gas engineer who has all the above LPG tickets and he said that the "guidance" is for temporary or portable installations then he would use a gas hose safe worm drive, for a house installation where it is permanent he would use an eared clip. He said the big issue is proper gas worm clips are 3 times the price of ordinary ones...
  12. They used to be called Future Found in Rotherham - looked at them a while back but never took the quote past the initial enquiry stage.
  13. As @JSHarris says these look like old stock and probably not eRP compliant however I doubt that would be checked by BCO

    We're in!

Congrats ..! Now you can finish the blog and do the 500 little "finishing off" jobs on the list ..!
  15. OK then while @Nickfromwales isn't looking, seal it tight with CT1....
  16. It's fine - crack on ..! Terracotta uPVC isn't stabilised for UV as much as the black / grey stuff but if it's boxed in and covered from the sun just get on with it ...
  17. Saw some Butterley ones in the pile at the weekend marked "Butterley Ollerton" - I should take a photo and send it to him ..!
  18. Now then..... @Nickfromwales you should know I'd thought of that lot ! Fill/pressure loop will be the same as the ASHP, cables would be in (but would use wireless anyway) and condensate is straight out into the soakaway outside.... And tbh if I put the gas meter in SWMBOAAT will just want a gas hob and I think we are finally winning the induction argument so don't open that pandoras box again !!
  19. I've been having the gas/no gas argument for a while now ..! It was made more difficult that we only have to pay £295 for the connection as there is a 63mm sub main in the neighbours garden that they knew nothing about ..! Tempted to put it in just so it's there and in place if I decide to install a gas boiler at a later date. Easy to run a pair of redundant 22mm pipes in the ceiling to the garage on a just in case basis however I'm thinking it just adds one more thing to the list ....
  20. Actually looking at it i think it fits nearly flush ...
  21. Yep that's the one
  22. 338 and 339 are for tiling on to so you can fit flush to the wall. 340 is a threshold strip to stop water running out of the shower area.
  23. Yes... GSR is split into commercial, domestic, NatGas, LPG and any combination of the above ..! It then gets split on boilers and gas appliances along with other different classes and each has its own separate training and certificates.
  24. PM me the part number and I will see what I can get it for ...
  25. Sorry that's not the query ..! You are putting rebar in which means you're using reinforcing in the concrete, not that it needs fibres in it to make it RC spec .... not sure the SE has grasped that one ..!
