  1. What a strange call. Just asked Kore if i can use there foundation products close to large trees. Answer "Dont Know"...... My question. Why don't you know ? Told ask your engineer. I told them that they should know if they want to sell there product, and that if i ask an engineer he will simple opt for something that he better understands like piling..... Anybody on here know ? Thanks.
  2. Do you have insulation just inbetween the roof joists, or do you also have it above the roof joists ? .....If you dont have insulation above the roof joists you do not have a warm roof.
  3. Turn the knob, and try and ease the bar were it is joined to the door upwards at the same time !!!!!!!
  4. I frame will cost you more. For my daughters place, because of budget I designed a door that had the look of in frame, but was just a normal door. I personally think it gave a decent look.
  5. This single sliding gate is 16ft long. I an going to have to redesign the catch due to the wind. Do not underestimate the power of mother nature.
  6. just a warning. Don't think oh sod it, and just put stuff in the barn. It will get ruined. You might aswell set fire to it, and save you the time of dragging it down there.
  7. Ì have had a Bosch cordless multitool. I got so sick of it running out, i got a Makita corded. Nice long cord.
  8. Do make sure you speak to the Sparky. The kitchen is covered by Part P in England, and that includes where the wires are run, and how they are protected. If the sparky aint got a clue how you have run them, he might be reluctant to sign it off.
  9. Apols Jo90 if i have blown your cover from when you were an instrument of the Government?
  10. Zoot. Joe 90 is ex SAS. He used to run around in Siberia, cutting peoples throats in the dead of night. He used to sleep outside in the snow and wind for days on end, (pooing into a plastic bag) while he observed his prey. If you really want us to try and help, then you need to monitor some temps over a couple of days, and give us those temps together with what heating sources you are using.
  11. You are going to have to drain down, so select what you want, and alter the pipework to suit the new rad
  12. Because you can see it's shallow. Dig a bit out as it's so green, and come back and tell us how deep it is. IMO it should be atleast 30mm. I bet it's no deeper tha 10mm in places. If he had raked it out properly, he would not have finished it so badly.
  13. Sounds like Mark c has given you the answer. Tart up, not a proper job, and rough looking to boot.
  14. Zoot. I kin hate being cold. You are going to have to get some sort of temp sensor, and over a few days. ie, high low, under the bed etc.
  15. Only going from what i can see in the photos. What is the finish ment to be ? It looks like badly done Weatherstruck ?
  16. No, it was genuine Zoot. You should be able to get your body warm, even if its light exercise, or star jumps.
  17. I think it all looks a bit crap from the photos. I don't think they have raked out enough of the old. That new pointing looks very shallow. I would'nt be surprised to see that fall off within 5 years, and look no better than when you started.
  18. Zoothorn. You're not ill are you fella ? Have you been mixing with undesirable people ?
  19. Nice. The colinder bit lifts out if i remember correctly.
  20. Hope you enjoy it. I sold and fitted a fair few, but none of my clients ever used them more than a couple of times. Same with coffee machines.
  21. Fill in the form, quote all three conditions, attach the report, pay the fee and send it in.
  22. He sounds great, and imo a decent price.......Have fun
  23. what are the conditions
  24. Best of luck fella. hope it works out for you. I walked away from a job in banking in the late 80's. It was driving me nuts. I had 3 small children. It was very, very hard, but i had the support of my wife. I was let down by several friends who said "if you ever want to work with me" etc. Helped a few people ad hoc, and worked on a guys house who asked me if i fancied fitting kitchens. I worked up to fitting high spec hand built stuff, and then set up my own kitchen company. Gave me a decent life in the end. Hard but rewarding.
  25. Having your own structural survey done, and having it in your back pocket wouldnt do any harm, and if it does turn out to be a nasty, you could get a quick, cheap, render job done on it, and flog it on. Best of luck with your sale. Big Jimbo
