use battery to convert or high voltage for transmission --then transform down again to 12v use " thats along way for a short cut" to me --just need large cables its for clay traps that are mounted on top of a tower --so you do not have to keep carrying batteries up =down to charge them
-
more than twice the gap of a 45mm baton --and some use 38mm batons don,t see why it would take any longer at all--but not treated --idon,t like that chalk line the verticals and put straps where you need them
-
that would be fine --but no mains supply to site --its all batteries
-
10.5 is normal acceptable on car systems -ecu,s will work fine to 10v
-
i came up with a silly size like that ,but another on line calculator said 16mm2
-
yep they are giving you 2000kwh - if not then they are giving you sod all just checked it is 2000kwh--8000miles they
-
big broither is watching as usual
-
wee change of subject and i know you will have answer at hand 12dc --40max load --30m long cable --what size needed its for local clayshooting club
-
come on --I know that but you could use it up alot quicker than 5.5kw perday --then you pay for anything over your yearly free allowance
-
He,HE if you ran a micro hydro on the free powerand then sold it back them .LOL
-
-
my guess its a separate line which goes to a car charging socket . a lloose lead that connects from that to your ASHP? free heating for all!!
-
yes no reason why not --but suprised not treated as australia has termites does it not bigger size batons than we use --looks like 2 x1-- maybe want bigger air gap from tiles due to hot temps in summer don,t think it would be cheaper must be big tiles looking at spacing vertically -- but if aus guessing its a tin roof
-
that would be fine if you could use it for other things as well. if you had 2 ponds you could use that free stuff to do your own pumped storage generation with a small micro hydro unit.LOL HMMMMM thinks +plots just looked at it its 2000kw ayear --so 5.5 kw per day unless other unti prices go crackers on this system --its a no brainer -as no exit cost from scheme

or natural random stone if you really want to make AN IMPRESSION -
LOL no need in uk till you go over 3 floors. we don,t have earth quakes here the italian spec one is 150mm -so you can have that if you want but that is 20% more concrete cost ,if someone was worried --drop some rebar in it -cheaper than more concrete ?
-
one big plus is its only 120mm of concrete not 150mm like most others --so cheaper to fill

Angled wall: Pretty, but worth it?
scottishjohn replied to puntloos's topic in New House & Self Build Design
so 4 bedrooms --you have got or are going to have kids ,which will become teenaagers with cars --where they going put them >you staying there along time you say Me I would build it deeper less wide and give enough space to drive to the back to a garage, that is a real one that you can actually get a car+junk in /man cave ,at the back of garden? which could also be convertible to a granny flat / student at some point , your garage now will be like most, just a junk room cos its too small to get a car in and open the doors to get in and out of it easywith shopping bags ,etc --guessing by the proportions of the door . Is this going to be self build?if so an even better reason to build garage at back FIRST with a bog etc .as site office and lockable tool shed minimum2 1/2p off street parking spaces required- by our local planning you look short on that -

can we have a front view you seem to be cramming a very large house on that plot -- no garage or space to come round side of house how many bedrooms are they other houses in drawing real and factual ? Main roof shape looks odd to me and why have sloped roof at rear right up to upper windows, maybe making the rear roof flat and making it a walk on sun area from large upstairs window ,glass barrier balcony etc would add some style ? and in that location will such a size house be over developing the plot -which means it will not get best resale price ,cos of its location how much is the plot --how much budget for build --what is average house price on that street less than that should be your target price to build it -

to me looks like you have added extensions to an exsisiting box shaped house --not part of an actual design -
thats cos they have permo frost -or big swing in summer/winter temps --so sips gives the insulation to the floor easy Isaw that video a while ago
-
silly question --has no body used the concrete lego blocks to build a house .LOL works out at£130 sqm --600mm thick wall -then whatever you like for insulation on inside and clad or render outside just stack them with a bit of foam in each layer -- build it in a day ready for roof suprised no one has made a 200mm thick version would 1/3 of the price with specific rebar lintel blocks as a build system - all you would need is a loader started me thinking when looking at lego blocks or gabions for retaining walls --gabions far more expensive
-
that was common 40 years ago and you had a layer of chips on it to act as something to stop the water evaporating quickly to stop felt overheating -usually -meant to hold up to an inch of water before it drained off my petrol station is like that --and after 20 years it had grown a self seeded roof garden -just had to weed the big things out now and then and now its nearly all sedum --never leaked
