  1. Is the whole build being done in some form of ICF eg velox ,or just the round bit ? as @Russell griffiths has said plenty of icf suppiers that make adjustable form to do round shapes .curved sips --never seen them
  2. a wild guess boarding was not painted with a thick enough layer of resin first before cloth applied- A layer of resin first allows you to roll the laminate into the resin and any air comes out of the top of the cloth ,then add more to top as required to get it totally wetted and compacted takes alot more rolling than most people think to very easy to use to waste resin just dumping it on the top weigh the cloth --then use same weight of resin .thats ideal amount of resin to use --less than you think -- ok add more to give a real glossy finish if you like ,but its not adding much strength to the job -just making it less flexible yes its easier to use more so you don,t have to roll so much --but not as good a layup
  3. the place that happens in biz normally is petrol sales --a tanker draws up and they want 50k I got round that by giving them a lean on my property -to the value pf 300k -- It meant did not need as much working capitol --cos most petrol sales are by card --so unless you pay an extra charge to get it within 2 days --that could be 7 days before it hits your bank so summer could be 5 deliveries in a week !!! winter 2 dliveries --thats 110k of dead money -not counting whats in the tanks same with any biz --thats why you want as long a credit line as you can get motorsport parts suppliers -- they always wanted payment with order--even if it was going to be a month to delivery - -so of course i did same with my customers payment with order --they could change their minds then i,m stuck with something wierd
  4. "possession is 9/10 ths of the law"-- remember that one .LOL it could be that the goods you paid for have in actual fact not be paid for by your supplier ,so the supplier will claim them back if they can so they were not theirs to sell you escrow will protect you from that -an expense ,but if worried thats the safety net
  5. what warranty do you get if you buy a s/h house --sod all--
  6. ye its called escrow --used widely by people buying things from abroad--a bank or someone has your money and only releases it when the goods have arrived and are OK and they decide on any arguments if the contract has been fullfilled or not-- a solictior can do it --common in usa for house purchases there would need to be a detailed contract for purchase --so the bank /solicitor can make a decsion if it has been fullied correctly in the case of a dispute
  7. this big --If I rebuild as it is its 700sqm ----think that is unlikely at this time picture was from 40,s in its glory days -- now its surrounded with trees and no roof --just the walls pictures with roof is 1975 Kirmabreck House old (5).pdf
  8. its a no brainer to me they make boats out of GRP-!!
  9. never seen any on TF houses built here ,as you say its probably only needed on bigger than the normal size house and if its going to be rendered and not brick outer skin
  10. RHI payment depend on how good your house is --the worse the insulation /bigger heat ;loss ,then the more you get this is why @JSHarris is so low --my house was assessed before i upgraded it --so therefore i get £807.91 per annum currently --it goes up every year by inflation rate started at £750.01 per annum so add the £1000 a year i save on LPG and the system will have paid for itself --by the end of the term of RHI and this is why on new build it may not pay to go MCS route -- mine did so if refurbing it pays to get your house assessed when it only just meets minimum requirement --then make it better later
  11. and who decides when it is time to sell it --bet there is a clause in there -which says the main investor can sell and just give you money --which means you could be homeless at short notice.which is what would happen if prices rocket in that area
  12. been using fein for over 25 years but don,t think twsit nails are normal harness and blades are expensive if you going to cut then 1mm thick cutting disc on angle grinder-only £1 each
  13. won,t last long on nails the old expression "hard as nails"
  14. you could make a piece of metal with a mouth in it --sharpen the edge so you can knock it in around your nails shaped like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Auto-Car-Upholstery-Remover-Tool-Fastener-Fixing-Clip-Screwdriver-Trim-Puller/223645333105?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3D2a612688909c44e48848c2dc7c73dc5d%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D192987892451%26itm%3D223645333105%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1 s-then once you loosened all use pinchers to pull out nails --the old fashoined type that have rounded jaws so as you lever down they pull out the nail first picture i could find --shaped like these hors shoe pinchers https://www.amazon.co.uk/FARRIERS-HORSE-HOOF-FILE-PINCER/dp/B00KXWLAZO joiners always used to have them --
  15. would also be good for organ donation LOL
  16. Iti s never goign to be allowed -- it will be dangerous remeber they started cutting down conker ttrees for the fear of being sued --so cables coming out of pavements --not a chance
  17. which is why it should be sorted NOW- not have dump in malaysia full of them
  18. you sure thats not just the first year charge ,same any car ,the first one is bigger than road tax,it sort of replaces the old car tax on a new car wht you going to pay next year ?
  19. you could fit boxes but would need different supply than the street lamp has someone has to pay for it --thats the problem --cos you got an electric car -you can,t expect free power
  20. last time i looked into this ,that was not the case -will hunt again
  21. no argument -- but not possible on sloping terrain and i,m too old to doing a "tarzan " impersonation
  22. I accept what you say -but its just not the way forward if we are trying to save the planet from pollution in the future --the old batteries have to dumped somewhere --
  23. talking of which ,has anybody seen wide ladders with some sort of device to fix to a tree when doing this other than tying a ratchet load strap around the top of ladder to tree
  24. that in all honesty is what needs to be addressed next make them recycle it now and get correct pricing sorted out including recyling costs --otherwise you are no better ,as long as its cheaper to use new AND NOT recycled lithium --then thats a bobby trap for later and hardly is in line with general outlook on recyling it can be done --just cheaper to mine new stuff in far off cheap labour locations then we might get some more development in other sorts batteries--
