a thick coat of pva or emulsion on eps and let it dry -so tape of choce will then stick to that ?

It will work fine -just that you will be loosing more heat downwards than a thicker insulated system --but it will heat room well

technically you could use a thin system and only lift floor level by 50mm - BUT you will be loosing heat into the concrete without a thick enough layer of insulation a bit of grief now will reduce your heat losses for ever -- do you know for sure that concrete floor has a vapour barrier below it and coming up the sides above the level of the concrete -isolating it from walls probably not at that age --so the right thing is to start again

I have always lived in soft water areas and i notice the opposite if I go to hard water area - could it be the softner is OVER softening the water? are they adjustable

i know nothing about 3 d printing --but that failure looks very simply that the material is not strong enough or too brittle Is it a case like nylon where you need to boil it up in water to stop it make it more flexible+ stop it becoming to brittle?

the reason cars have been getting largerover the years is encaqp testing --cars have to be bigger + heavier for all the safety measures internal crash bars ,air bags etc all take space so if to get same intewrnal space car gets bigger

i do not disbelieve you ,but the mot s must be carried out on pit with a jacking beam and swivel plates- must have been doing them for a long time with no change in ownership to still be allowed to have a pit - that will be bombed out if garage changes hands

2 post ramp was never an mot ramp all 4 posters or a pit now 4 posters with shaky plates for one man MOT operation for any new MOT stations

A friend of mine has a stand alone garage wall height 10ft 6" he has a 4 poster ramp in there which has all his workshop equip on it,since he got rid of second car put ramp up --car drives below it and you got 5ft+ of space for stuff on top of ramp --with that or another car s/h four poster ramp --£500- £1000 that is a cheap second garage

If you really want a transformer garage then dig a basement under it as your junk/service room I am suprised with the space premium in modern house plots these days that more do not have a basement for junk+services

will hessian not hold water when it gets wet and let it through and then freeze plastic sounds abetter choice I think the idea of hessian is to allow it to breathe and let water evaporate --can,t see much of that going on for ther next few months if the hessian is soaked with rain

not going to dry up at all this winter -- and if it gets wet it will melt and run down the stone work and stain it -- I suspect you need to cover it with sheet to stop that happenning . frost can only cause damge it there is free water to freeze

If you want to do an ev conversion what about a 2cv --weighs nothing and won,t need a big motor or a lot of batteries to get a decent range then when you drive it hard it will lean over and you will think you are sailing LOL

as already said ,you have to go with what your SE advises ,as he will have the insurance if he is proved wrong later I would comment that when making a basement in dubious ground most Icf systems go for a wall at twice as thick as the one standing on it above ground with drains etc and that will be with no extra load from another building very close your plan shows same dimensions as above ground ,which has no side loading on it at all . I,m certainly no expert in any way -- but that just looks wrong
