It seems to be a thing with windows at the moment. I am keen to pay for my 2 sets of bifolds all I want is a correct VAT invoice and I will pay straight away. My window fitter is useless at paperwork I just want to pay him for a great job that he did a week before Xmas. If I pay him and wait for a receipt I may get it by this Xmas at best.

If this is where I think it is ( begins with L ) my demo guy would be interested in getting rid of it. He was half the price of other contractors that we approached.

Hi all, We are cracking on with our build and I seem to have hit a brick wall with finding a supplier for these black internal aluminium doors that will sit between the kitchen / family room and the hallway . I have waited ages for a quote to come back but it was £3k which is very steep. the size is approx 1850 w x 2035 h and I wanted two doors but no cill so I can run the flooring through the middle. does anyone know of a trusted supplier for these ?

I remember the day when I instructed my labourer to fill in all the holes in the joist hangers with twist nails. I told him that if he ran out there was another bag of nails in the shed. He got the wrong bag and despite nailing a hundred or so twist nails continued with galvanised roofing nails. He will remember the day he had to pull them all out again.

They all did on mine. It’s a no brainier really while they have the machines there. It takes no time at all with most old foundations.

We just laid the trays on to the 22 mm caberdek. ours were quite flat on the bottom so a good layer of sticks like sh*t and siliconed all around the edges. The aqua board will be siliconed at the bottom on to the top of the tray and then the tiles. If that leaks I'll eat my bats.

There is a site near me in Bidford on Avon with 50 new units on it. The houses are completed with all landscaping and internal works complete, the whole site is heras fenced off with security in place. I have no idea what the reason is but they can't be occupied. Someones head is going to roll.

You will not save that. Make sure your insurance is in order if you are going to leave it up a day longer. If that comes down on somebody they are toast.

One for @nod I think but any help is appreciated. I have received a labour only quote for plastering off a contractor who has come with superb recommendations. This is fine by me but to compare like for like with other quotes I need to know what I need to buy. I could ask the plasterer but when there is another expert around .... I have the quantities for m2 of boarding for walls ceilings and bathrooms but how much finish do I need per m2 and how much adhesive per m2 of board ? Thanks guys

JCB do a one off insurance for short term but it is cheaper to add on hired in plant to your existing policy.

After a long and tiresome battle with my DNO they have now offered their final quote and I need to accept this to proceed. Any recommendations for a speedy meter connection with a supplier. I was just talking to my developer mate who suggested British Gas for simplicity and efficiency in the process but warned me that I would have to wait months. Thoughts please guys.

Do you worry about frost Nod when plastering in these cold temperatures ? I’m planning on plasterers for mid January.
