I could do if it was just discharging in one place but it’s a random outfall from all around the base of the unit.
-
Overflows through a pipe from the unit or from general discharge beneath the unit ?

Hi all. On my snagging list is to try to solve my problem of heat pump condense spilling across my footpath. The porcelain path is laid with a fall of 17 mm per m away from the house. The rubber feet of my heat pump rest on this so when the condense comes out it drains across the footpath and not into the gravel drain that I have against the house. I have seen heat pump drip trays advertised but how have other people got round this. It’s certainly more of a discharge than I had predicted. In hindsight I should have formed a recess for the condense to flow towards the house and maybe be diverted into a drain. Too late now without major work.

My first solar powered Reolink camera failed due to the antenna becoming disconnected. My second one is fine but hasn’t charged in the last 2 weeks due to the weather I guess.

In my area I can get a grab wagon for £140 to take away a full load of clean hardcore. If you have more to do it may be worth looking into. -
Is anyone else watching this ? Comedy gold. The worst roof repair I’ve ever seen and now they are trying to use a wacker plate on gravel.

Ventilation calculations

We had our vents measured for LABC at the same time and by the same people that did our air tests. -

Ahh I see. I've just been checking and I had originally got planning for the 'garden room' (man cave) and the drawings that I submitted no dimensions on them so I think I should be ok as long as I don't extend the 'bin store' upwards. Excuse the mess in the photo its work in progress 🙂 -

No complaints from the neighbours but I am slightly concerned that someone from the council may pop by seeing as we are nearing completion certificate stage. -

Interesting. Is this method of measurement the same for garden rooms? I excavated 1 m into a slope and built it a little bit higher than the 2.5 m max at the high end which is about 1.7 m above the retaining wall that is holding the slope back. -
Not sure but I know that for housing you can get an indemnity policy for it for not much money.

usually A & C. C will be lapped to your DPM which goes on top of your B&B also another membrane on top of your PIR.

Not sure if I’m understanding this correctly. I found the local brewery last week. 😀😀Why not coil quite a bit of pipe up that they can connect to at a later date ? If they have to do a road crossing ask if they can mole. It cost me no extra and they finished it all in a day. OK the meter covers looked like a bomb crater but they were quick to correct the mess after one complaint.

I'm just in the process of compiling my portfolio of photos for this. I am guided by an email that my SAP assessor sent me. I can forward it on to you if you DM me an email address. -
what a crazy state of affairs this is.

£8 k for me up to now and not a single bat to divide the money into. A friend has just gone through the biodiversity route and he reckons it’s going to cost £23 k per house to get it through.

I’ve been told by my broker that unless you have 5 vehicles it’s not worth it. Also van insurance is more expensive than cars and I don’t believe you can move your no claims bonus from a car to a van.

Mine works fine with 100 mm aircrete blocks 125 mm full fill insulation and a brick skin to the outer. I built it myself though so I know that there are no gaps in the insulation and not a single mortar snot on it either. I don’t live in an exposed area though but have full confidence in it.
-
Mine was easier as a new build but I built 4x2 studs filled with 90 mm PIR then attached 25mm PIR in front with 50x 25mm battens on the inside with all joints foamed and taped to give a service void for cables. It’s as warm as toast. We had a site meeting in there last night and had to turn a small fan heater off after about 10 mins. Mine is a similar size at 5.3 x 3.3 internally.

Hi all, Now that the house is 95% complete ( I’m just waiting for the electrics to the heat pump to get sorted to give us heating) I move on to the garden room. I built it prior to the main build and used it as a site office / store/ temporary toilet. It is stick built out of 4 x 2 with 90 mm celotex between the studs and the roof out of 7 x 2 with 90 mm of celotex between the rafters and a gap above for ventilation. I am now in the process of installing an extra 25 mm of PIR to the inside which I will seal and tape prior to adding 2 x 1 to create a set is void prior to boarding. The outside will be clad in either cedral cladding or timber. Seeing as the PIR will be well sealed and taped on the inside do I still need to install a vapour barrier as well ?
-
That seems new. It is however for load bearing walls only. You can’t build a load bearing wall on top of PIR.

And I’d rather wallow in someone else’s shit than work on a WD site. 😜
