  1. Ive looked at that BPC for next project. The ducting kits seem to cost as much as the units. Does summer bypass mean that heat will not be extracted from exhaust air if hotter than intake?
  2. @JSHarris did you buy an all singing unit because you were unsure about heating demand? In hindsight could you make do with a basic model?
  3. As above I like them 1050 minimum as gives 6" ish This is what happens when too low. Its ok but not ideal
  4. Don't think 3 is ok but might be misreading it
  5. It was light when you started and dark when you finished. No good on a summer Friday!
  6. Load of worrying about nothing then!
  7. yeh if theres lateral forces you've got a problem loads go down not across
  8. If you read the instructions on most things you'd never do anything. Load of rubbish from manufacturers. These oak doors I've been getting from magnet are cheap as chips and you can tell too. Veneer is water thin. What do you do with edges after trimming on pre finished doors?
  9. Shouldn't work like this though isn't it a peculiarity of Britain. Most other countries value on gia plus a few variables like land etc To be fair around here prices around 2500-3000m2 Most plots get put up for 1000m2 gia of proposed development if not more.
  10. Cheap screed/grano/self leveller to get it Up to level and about right. Liquid dpm 2 coats. Ardex NA slc to finish
  11. Is anyone ever happy with window fitters they're all rough as a badgers. Most firms seem to have all Muppets with one old boy who goes round fixing all their rubbish work.
  12. What about some water boards wanting 5m clearance to "sewers" wouldn't apply in this case due to current proximity to houses or small diameter of pipe?
  13. Yeh and if finish isn't good it Gives them a get out. Like when bad skimming because of bad boarding. Let them put them on.
  14. Mortgageability is a consideration. I'm sure I see a mainstream builder adopting rafts on a recent build on a small scale. I think it was due to ground conditions. Sure the system had LABC approval which ticks the mortgage box
  15. I thought you subbed the groundworkers in? Are you just saying they worked to tf companies design/plans?
  16. Oh I've got one made up to STW spec could of lent you but bit far!
  17. Intumiscent strips and intumiscent paint is the usual solution for this isn't it? What's the regs 20mins on loft conversion?
  18. Where abouts are you roz?
  19. What about just some handy work @nod
  20. Don't understand why everyone has so many problems perhaps I've just been lucky. Let topsoil settle for 3 months or so before turning with good quality turf. Areated de thatched overseeded and fertilized each year jobs a goodun. Last lawn was quite heavily shaded too
  21. Dave I think you underestimate how well educated these forum members are. It fries my brain trying to understand the heating/cooling/hot water set ups some of you lot have!
  22. Have you got founds low enough down to replace bottom row of icf with normal blocks/bricks. If you come up one course you could trim conc blocks and get it out
  23. All good advice above. Personally I'd mothball after founds but my appetite for risk is low. Brexit definitely having an effect. Stuff is still moving but maybe higher end of market a bit sticky?
  24. @joe90 stainless wall ties or composite out of interest?
  25. Interesting thanks. So pipes/ducts covered in insulation then lagged where they come up to meet the unit. Do you have to insulate the unit in any way? What about the ducts which bring in fresh air and expel air?
