  2. Sorry to digress how much thermal performance is gained by using pu foam or is it more about air tightness or something?
  3. Bloody hell that's immense for 2 homes. Must be worth a few bob when done? What do you think you'll spend on muckaway? How much ea load
  4. You know to contact openreach rather than bt?
  5. Apparently a lot of 8 wheel tippers now struggle to carry 20 legally. Body and all the bells and whistles are getting too heavy
  6. You won't get 20t on a grab more like 16. What size machine you having digging?
  7. I've never know Some one so certain about the weather you should get a job on the news
  8. Move it if it puts your mind at rest. Tell the builder its stressing you out and you want to pick a dry day. Cant put a price on sanity
  9. Whats happening friday then is Noah setting sail at the zoo?!
  10. Sorry to hear. Atleast you've got the right perspective, put it behind you and crack on. I think i'd struggle to have that perspective the next day so fair play to you!
  11. Obviously I'm talking about 2 different pumps here, dirty water and concrete pumps!
  12. They can pour concrete underwater. Unless your mixing it in it should mostly displace it. Await a boffins explanation... Get a pump, pump trenches out before pouring then leave well alone. They using a pump to get it round the trenches? I think far worse crimes are committed when builders have it piss wet to help rake it round
  13. When I was there most tradesmen left kit in back of utes. Wouldn't think nothing of leaving kit in back while going into shops. I had a mate from South Africa who said it's a burglars paradise in Australia. Much less low level criminality. May change now ice and drugs getting a foothold?
  14. @joe90 So you'd just turn off the whole manifold? Is it not preferable to isolate each run? Take it you have a service valve before each tap etc?
  15. @joe90 Why not bother with isolating valves? @Nickfromwales With these plastic manifolds which are the best isolating valves to use for longevity? Speed fit ones? Normal compression ones? Full bore ones? (on mains pressure system)
  16. What happens if you use the ufh pipe instead would be vermin resistant?
  17. Same as you. I've heard kommerling is good?
  18. Is there a sensibly priced manufacturer or profile I should be looking to when seeking UPVC windows. Are all profies pretty much the same i.e. extruded bits of plastic or do some have integral insulation? or some other enhanced feature? I'm happy to accept the 20-30 year lifespan
  19. If you've purchased conveyancing has hopefully thrown up a few clues with utilities maps and wording of any covenants or easements.
  20. @JSHarris @joe90 why would you be concerned about using concrete? Surely in bang for buck terms it could last 500 years. As your houses well built and low energy surely this offsets any concerns.
  21. Furring strips are fine. I used 3" difference in course height across 3.6m garage so no strips needed there but horses for courses. You may struggle to get t and g osb at sensible money depending on local stockists. You'd only need 4 rows of noggins to catch all joints on square edge.
