We used nudara and as long as there still price competitive we will be using them again in build 2.

maybe of a interest & they do have a agent in UK same guy i bought my ICF from. For the record i have never used it but i do like the concept! http://spidertie.com/

For me personally, I fail to see the the attraction of passive certification. My priority is to build a home which is cheap to run and very healthy/comfortable to live in, I don't think this is rocket science and I do not need a badge to tell everybody this! Further more i don't agree with only being able to buy passive certified products to gain certification and pay a large premium for this ( i feel as self builder i am already being ripped off everywhere else!) sorry for the rant, its being a shit day on site

I was also bidding on the 2x ashp's on ebay, never got it either.

For the renewable argument it is possible to get more than 3.68kw on a single phase but this has to applied for to your DNO. It may become a advantage for charging a electric car but other people on here are more clued up on this.

I have found TP surprisingly competitive.....

pretty straight forward. My personal choice but i would pay the extra and buy uponor 16mm MLC pipe. I have the pipeclip gun if its any use to you for a shot. not sure if this is a good deal but this is a start! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5no-Heatmiser-neo-stat-thermal-stat-smartphone-/302425523270?hash=item4669f74446:g:AtMAAOSww5hZMTRQ

Do you have drawings/spec? Tbh most nation wide suppliers will supply to you. If you know what you want ebay is your friend!

Much appreciated on some very good info. Solar PV is a strange one in spain, we did think about no mains electric and fulling the roof of PV but with AC and pool requirements think we are pushing it a bit much. I cam across 2x expat forums, a british expat one and a general expat one.

I wil send you my quote reference tonight.

Just a quick follow up. I am doing a lot of homework just now. I was having a chat with someone over in Mallorca regarding insulation. She spoke about a group of Germans she knew who insulated the houses to a German standard but this increased the problem of dampness inside, she said it is best to have low/no insulation and a drafty house.... The houses we viewed tended to be build single block, poor double glazing and a open log fire for heat in the winter, Solar DHW tank on the roof and AC units. Am i right in thinking a decent insulated house, with good 2g/3g glazing, UFH/ASHP , AC and a MVHR system to would beat this dampness ? Would the MVHR work in reverse ie chill the fresh incoming air in the summer?

MVHR, maybe a bargain for someone... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nuaire-MRXBOX95AB-WM2-MVHR-Whole-house-heat-recovery-ventilation-unit/263156080049?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 according to a online seller should be good for approx 350m2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heat-Recovery-Ventilation-Unit-Itho/322653084272?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 -
At this stage as well. Is there anything like the link but with insulation as well. I also need to source a solid insulated external back door with good airtightness that doesn't cost a bomb .... Any pointers much appreciated.

That's scary quotes or maybe it's me being a tight Scotsman. Another option. Do you know any good plumbers who would go on a day rate with a exact spec and diagrams to follow, with you providing material? Both ashp's are decent quality but nothing special but personally I prefer a monobloc (quote 1) over a split system due to a simpler system I don't need a refrigeration ticket to commission but not worth the price difference.

Machine was 700 plus 80 shipping north. I will be selling when finished builds but not even started build number 2 (my build) and I am looking at another plot for a holiday home today... so could be a while.

I bought (ebay) the machine graco Mark v to paint, but it's big enough to plaster which is a bonus. I have done little bits of plastering here and there but nothing major. I'm game on buying a few bags and trying somewhere out of sight but if I need to buy the hopper add on I probably won't bother.

@Pete, how much m2 are you doing in steel?

My father was also impressed with the tata course but ultimately decided against using it.

remember the LPG boiler has to have a gas ticket to install while a ASHP can be done DIY. Pick up deal on the ASHP and get your hands dirty then you may find there is not much difference in the installation cost.

we used one of them silverline electric winches for lifting concrete blocks up scaffolding. made life very easy!
-
quick question Jeremy, did you store the sparyer pump armour in it?

Vokera's was (ten years ago) one of our biggest money makers...... repairing them! As for the solar compatible non combi part I think that's more to do with having a solar cylinder/hot water tank with a dedicated coil for solar thermal. First step I think you should work out your heat loss as 30kW is a big boiler for a well insulated house with 3g house & mvhr.
