Just looking at different options for roof windows. Apart from the normal suspects roofingsuperstore sterlingbuild etc does anybody have any good sellers for fakro windows? Sounds a stupid question but are the windows well packed for damage as mainland Europe are cheaper for windows than UK even with current exchange rate.

74p plus vat a linear meter in February.

Yes we bought the kwikstage, can't comment on other brands but the kwikstage is idiot proof. As above, buy wisely and you can sale it for roughly what you bought it for but be aware we have had to ditch a lot of timber boards. We also stuck a set of casters on to a bay which has been very handy for the ridge beam.

Never priced renting, but for two slow self builds it was a no brainer. Keep a eye on Gumtree. Are you planning to do the build yourself or get a contractor in?

Another cheap 12kW Kingspan Aeromax ASHP

Our glowworm one didn't come with the control pack or installation kit either. I was hoping to connect it straight on to the uponor plastic pipe but will see how it goes when we are installing. -

ok, who has stuck the cheeky opening bid in???? -
Thankyou for the link. It looks a tidy wee machine but decided to hold off just now.

Sorry I thought you was doing a passive slab.
-
A dpm (damp proof membrane) . Our was laid on the first 100mm of eps slab then the extra 200mm eps layer on top.

I have never welded before but came across a 80 amp inverter one in lidil's today for £60. 3 year warranty. Worth a punt for playing about on?

Just double checked the one that came with the 12xcans is still in a box but this is the one we have been using . http://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-foam-applicator-gun/28483?kpid=28483&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-Sales%20Tracking-_-sales%20tracking%20url&gclid=CjwKEAjwjunJBRDzl6iCpoKS4G0SJACJAx-VlIw37scv6JIHH6qnVPem36T8f24-xGchOWcpbk1CZhoCcZjw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CK7u-rHasdQCFYhFGwodo2AAvQ

Obviously go with what the manufacturer says but the three icf manufacturers I looked at in detail was nudara, quadlock and amvic. They all quoted sump between 120-150mm and use a poker especially around rebar (on second thoughts can't remember if amvic quoted a poker) .

We tried a few different foams and found the soudal low expansion best. Our first can we bought for sticking two eps sheets together was high expansion foam from local build merchant....doh http://www.screwfix.com/p/soudal-soudafoam-expanding-foam-gun-grade-750ml/5026d

Our gun was part of a pack with 12x cans. Can't say if it's a good or bad as it's the only gun we have ever used. Yeah we have left our gun for about 30 days between use with the foam can still attached and never had any problems.
-
Welcome. I will have an up to date window schedule making its way to your desk very shortly (hopefully it's correct this time ?).

Are you using a poker?
-
No question gun!! We used our gun a wee bit different. Before we changed the can we would completely empty the can then we changed the can as quick as possible and use the can rite away. Only time we used foam cleaner was when I made a mistake and set of the new can before the can sealed to gun, without the cleaner the gun would have been a rite off. In the morning/or after a few hours of no use we would have to spend a minute and cut off the dryed foam from around the nozzle with a knife. Used over 60 cans on various stuff and still on the same gun.

Yep. Nudara icf. Learned on job from rebar to concrete it was a real learning curve. Made a few mistakes but will be doing a eps passive slab and icf again on second build so pretty happy with build up to now. Was meant type c35 concrete not r35. I think waterproof additive to concrete is more for used for basements constructed with icf but biggest problem I see with this is the concrete sealing around the plastic ties but that is a other topic. I am a bit wary of your 80mm sump, who has spec'd that? How high are you pouring?
-
Think we used r35 120mm sump through the boom (can't remember the aggregate but 10mm rings a bell). Maybe slightly of topic but we have used 3 different pumps from 3 different companies at various stages. The best one was a 35m boom from a national company due to them having a shut of valve at the end of the boom so it was very quick to stop which was a major help for running up the gables. They also had the smallest nozzle for easiest control.

anybody got a up to date price for the pv and stack?

+1 for hillard tanner. Started with a local company (in aberdeen) who was a waste of time ended up TSD.

We also run out of eps 100 and 300 sheets during setting out ( we increased the foot print ?) we received a pretty quick load from these guys and wasn't far off the original price. https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/product/jablite-eps-300-insulation-board-100mm-x-24m-x-12m-1728m2-pack.html https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/product/jablite-eps-100-insulation-board-100mm-x-24m-x-12m-1728m2-pack.html

I usually find making a phone call finding the rite person and send a email to them while chatting to them on the phone you usually get a quick response! To make things easy for the person at the polystyrene company (remember insulated raft foundations is probably less than 1% of their buisness so they might be slightly taken a back if you send them a full on structural drawing with rebar, concrete mixes etc) I drew out the L section with dimensions on it and sent them a quote for X amount of linear meter of the eps 300 L section, X amount of eps 300 sheets and X amount eps 100 sheets. I received quotes back pretty quick. Last time I priced kore, future found etc these guys where the cheapest http://www.styrene.biz.

also worth giving telford a ring (big thank you to nickfromwales). I originally was looking at joule for a 500l TS but telford came up with exactly what I need but a lot better priced. Hopefully i will order it in another month.
