The right engineer would set it up correctly with a smaller jet, specs be damned. Being pedantic you'd probably change the blast tube too, but the look of a clean flame inside the combustion chamber and good numbers on the analyser, and you're good to go IMHO.

Screening Ideas to Block Chronic Curtain-Twitchers

do any of your neighbours have children that may be in the view of your cameras? -
plus some also have low noise/ night mode which trades a tiny bit of efficiency for less disturbance.

your fridge is quieter than mine!
-
Mine's no noisier than a fridge and even the fan never seems to work up a sweat.

Not living with it yet Dave but all indications so far are good. With the correct thermistor placement, the big coil should let the ASHP recover temps to sufficient levels for near continuous flow
-
I've an open-vented thermalstore with *big* coils for the ASHP and DHW.

MVHR Active Carbon Filter
dpmiller replied to Ultima357's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
what weight is the filter, and what size of granule? First one gives a clue about how much you can adsorb, second is related to flow restriction and rate of adsorption. / used to spend a lot of time working on duct-free fume cupboards... -
Actually, I have a natural aversion to "brands" in general, knowing how much badge engineering goes on these days. In seriousness tho, it seems one of the major issues wth the snazzy stuff is the controller and manual. The Cool Energy unit has a complete suite of Carel control equipment- inverter, controller, expansion valve, sensors- which are used and understood pretty well in the commercial refrigeration game and is pretty much Plain English to program and operate. It has nice simple inputs and outputs too. Heating flow at a good COP? check. Useful maximum flow temp? check. Good cooling performance? check. Reasonable warranty? check.

It is Dave, the iVT9 is a pretty impressive unit

8.5kW, same as mine ?

you've likely taken paint off a joint or blemish. Matching touch-up time.

why do you care it they're looking- Are you doing something wrong? -
what lengths are the other loops in the design? System will balance best if all the loops are similar-ish.

Benefits of a basement for plumbing/heating simplicity

two Qs. Do you really want to be traipsing up and down stairs to the laundry every time? Are you actually allowed (by your DNO) to have you meters such a comvoluted journey from the front of the house? -
Fan Coil Units for use with a (cooling) ASHP
dpmiller replied to ProDave's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Series connection could do it, the return from the 5C circuit would be a bit warmer... -
Will widening my connection to Thames Water make a difference?
dpmiller replied to hendriQ's topic in General Plumbing
chop the restrictor out, do the rest in 32mm, and you'll be happy I'll bet. -
Anyone know a good large format tile cutting company?

personally, I think you're mad too... -
Don't discount wastewater heat recovery on the most frequently-used showers too...

Dropping SSE cable into the ground
dpmiller replied to Deacs's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Here they just direct bury into your pre-dug trench. No duct, just marker tape. -
If so, no stub cill required IMO. I know they are common in England but over here the frame is generally just set on top of the boot cill with the frame overhanging outside slightly.
