  1. Ventilation is always good, ideally don’t build your inner walls and insulation etc while the brickwork is wet through, but once your inner skins are up there will be little to no moist air hitting the bricks and the space will be much warmer anyway.

  3. Your look fine, the tile fixings should be the weak link to prevent the whole roof coming off in one lump if wind did get under it. what happened to the felt? Has it been pulled out or never had any?
  4. +1. maybe use a thin metal strap folded into a hinge and screwed to inside, it’s a bodge but no worse than the boxes themselves

  7. Why would a GRP roof have an ugly raw edge? As you are keeping the gutter to the rear, a nice fascia is the way to go
  8. Basic surveying shouldn’t cost much at all. You don’t need fancy instruments. for your project a water level or basic laser is more than accurate enough. and yes a layperson can do it.…. What is a lay person anyway?
  9. You shouldn’t shim but it often happens. If these are not ground floor then packing puts the tops level but makes boarding the underside a real P.I.T.A.

  11. As it’s in a garage and intended as a utility I would probably go with Vinyl planks
  12. +1 to the above. trying to fit corrugated around Velux or other box protrusions is very difficult aesthetically and mechanically. fit the protrusion to suit the corrugated sheets as half corrugations are a pain to seal and never look right.

  14. Galvafroid , not galvonoid, brilliant stuff, haven’t bought or needed any in years so not sure if you can still get it.
  15. Spa tub look amazing in adverts and sounds wonderful, in reality they are rarely used and are a pain to clean and keep clean … water hangs around in the pipes and jets and they need regular cleaning and disinfecting
  16. No problem, council tax should really have read rateable value, nothing to worry about as a tenant.
  17. Council tax! Our business premises are measured approx every 5 years. Quite common with blocks of flats and they often use a typical flat for the measure instead of doing them all
  18. As above, if you already have a backhoe (assuming it’s 3cx or similar size) then a breaker for that will be ok. Pecker is easy to use but knock he’ll out of the machine , 3cx we’re known for shattering glass or it falling out while pecking. granite shatters so pecker away from yourself and have some boards propped up to catch most of the flying debris
  19. Get a 13 to 20 ton excavator in with a pecker and save yourself a lot of work. Have it done in a couple of days
