  1. We fitted Schneider Lisse because we liked the look of them and the reviews were good. The light switches are good in that they have a loop-in terminal built in.
  2. I used 12mm Hardiebacker board but it's tough stuff and I got through a few holecutters!
  3. @Onoff Thanks for your generous comments.
  4. Many thanks all, I shall persevere.
  5. Great thanks I'll try again.
  6. I tried them but never got a reply.
  7. It's UK Power Networks here and they seem to expect the board to be in place.
  8. What DNO are you under?
  9. Ideally 24" x 18" but could be smaller.
  10. Does anyone know of a supplier of flame retardant meter boards? Online I could only find CEF and they didn't reply to my email and in a CEF store I was told they couldn't get them.
  11. I've ordered twice from JTM and both times delivery was next day!
  12. Our BCO and the Highways Dept. allowed us to discharge roof drainage directly onto the lane because of the very variable water table level. There's not much point in SuDs down here, the lane is the drain.
  13. By the time I left computing power had gone up to a Cray YMP and programming was in FORTRAN77.
  14. My treatment plant was around £2300 and the reedbed system another £1200. I gave the local farmer about £200 to dig the holes, so under £4000 in all.
  15. In 1970 when I first started at the MOD I programmed in a language called MIRFAC which was run on an inhouse built computer called COSMOS. IIRC I took the instructions over to the ladies in the computer centre who punched out the cards and ran the code. Cards then changed to paper tape. COSMOS was replaced by an ICL machine running George4 I think, it's all a bit vague. I remember the calculators were electro-mechanical and when the first electronic ones were bought soon after I joined they cost a fortune and the following year they were half the cost and could do twice as much.
  16. My 'O' levels were English Lang., Maths, Advanced Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics and Technical Drawing.
  17. Yes I took Technical Drawing O level in the 60's, those were the days, also took Statistics which was a separate subject back then.
  18. I always thought they were a good idea because they put the hot water into the top of the tank and heat the tank downwards. They also did the solarsyphon.
  19. Expanding foam tape is only expected to be water and air tight up to a certain amount of expansion. A tape may be 5mm thick and expand to 17mm but only be weathertight up to 12mm.
  20. Hi Julie and welcome to the forum. good luck with the project.
  21. I think it was SIG Building Solutions, but I wasn't taking that much notice. I was more interested in my breakfast.
  22. I fitted a venturi shower about five years ago because we had similar problems. It does require soft water to prevent the internals getting furred up but it has worked well up to now.
  23. I've used these in the past. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15mm-barrier-pipe-cold-form-bend-supports-Joblot-of-20/332090348810?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3D153dd5e21d6d4f20a0868ee25c156d66%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D180500616800
  24. Our water table can be very high but we used a treatment plant that only needed type 1 backfill and used ground anchors. It's been in over six years with no problems.
  25. @MikeSharp01 It's a bit grubby outside, not best time for taking pictures. So it's outside, then inside same window, then as a point of interest an Internorm entrance door that is ali clad.
