Are you using micro inverters on that or just a single inverter and optimisers as I’m not sure you are supposed to mount micro inverters inside as they need a constant flow of air to cool them.

Ever thought that fixing the tank and changing it for a treatment plant may be a good move ..?? -

irrational or ludicrous ..?? even if it doesn’t back up, if the traps dry out it will smell anyway... and if it backs up to first floor then your shower wall drain in that new ground floor shower will need one hell of a non return valve on it ..!!! -
I’d just crimp a ring onto the earth from the pendant and the earth line in and then trap it under the stud - it looks like they are removable anyway

Also don’t forget that cupboards don’t need to be back to back - you can side mount 2 base 300 units behind - pair of 600 units and it gives you a breakfast bar type arrangement with storage available. DIY Kitchens is less than 2 hours from you - worth a day out as they have about 30 display kitchens and it will give you some ideas and inspiration. They also have free coffee and cake ......

As others have said - sit it onto the finished floor and you can always anchor it using a couple of rawl bolts. English regs don't need circulation space (thankfully ...) but make the gap between opposing units a minimum of 1100mm as it allows someone to open a dishwasher behind you without cracking your legs ... Also consider cupboard door sizes. UK standard is a 600 module which is ok but means you need to stand a long way back or to the side to open the doors. On a previous kitchen I used dual 300 doors on all top cupboards so they don’t hit you in the face, and currently have fitted one with 500 doors which are much better and don’t seem to have anywhere like the swing of a 600 - odd saying the difference is only 500. Have a look online at DIY Kitchens as they have a planner and it will help you play about in both 2D and 3D. @ProDave what is the quality like on those pop ups as I want one but some get poor reviews due to finish of the pop up piece.

So..... is this the main cooking station ..?? Hob needs to be in reasonable reach of the oven so dishes can be swapped. A 1200 island only gives 300 either side of the hob which is pretty tight to get any sort of drop zone in. In terms of in-island extraction, does she mean the recirculating pop up ones as if so I don’t think you have enough depth at 1200. The rest is easy - pop up power tower will give power plus USB chargers.

I would go 100/200/170mm as they are all standard sizes. Wickes have them on offer if you buy 3 or more of each. Got a TradePro card ..?

Floor - you could lay something “warm” feeling like laminate with a 3mm foam underlay. Won’t help a lot but it will feel a bit warmer. -
Nah it’s on its 55th page ..!! Got funny a few weeks ago when it turns out that not only have the neighbours employed one of the dodgiest builders in the area, they are basically just extending the chimney ..... and he drops the bombshell that it’s their neighbour of the attached semi..!!! Chimney is in the party wall..!!

How about use a thickish limestone or slate instead to absorb heat ..?

I was typing something similar to @A_L and think your best bet here is a new tent inside a tent ..! Insulated plasterboard or at least insulation then new board will be the only way you will get this place warm and dry. What heating do you have ..? And is this a long term project or just a short term place ..? -

Thats how the cheap Chinese ones work - two Stanley blades in a pudding basin and a mandrel stuck on. They seem to have holes in the back to break your fingers too ... -

Option 2 needs you to get the VCL perfect... What is the inside finish and are there any penetrations planned or can you create a service void.? -
You can back to back standard 600 work surface using the normal method you use for a corner. Bolts under the joint all the way along, coloured bonding sealant and if you want to really line it up properly then biscuit joints will help. You could...... do a set of mitre corners and get it with a bullnose all round but that’s going to take a joiner with some skill ..!!

Hey that’s good !! looks like you have found your main stop tap coming out of the floor and a bit of funky waste there too ....! looks like the tap in the top pipe closes off your outside tap so that needs to be accessible if possible in the cupboard. -

Isolators off means water off so undo the nut this side but hold the valve so it doesn’t turn with another spanned or grips but try not to mash the screw head on the valve. Then waste out to the wall if possible - it’s £3 a length so busting it isn’t an issue - and get that unit out ! -

At least one now uses a “panel” of RICS surveyors to give them their bands however they don’t show what they include so it’s reasonably difficult to understand what the standard/good/excellent really means.- 192 replies

Nope as meters are free Go with Eon, get the meter installed on the standard variable quarterly billed E7 tariff and then as soon as you have your MPAN and meter you start the switch. They will usually install in 10-15 working days.

Bear in mind I think these are in the back of the pockets anyway they will be hidden by various female hair potions within a day, it’s not like they will be seen ....

Ahhh ok..!! They aren’t just about finish though - RICS used to include the standard builds and it was roof - concrete tiles vs roof - clay pan tile etc it’s not just about kitchens and bathrooms and bells and whistles but I can see where you were coming from.- 192 replies
