nice of them to sit there long enough for you to get the hose out, suppose you need to be careful not to break the panels whilst doing it. ?

mdf is quite a soft material for standards, both for damage as well as for haning door from. suppose it may work though wouldn't do it myself. faced ply would be acceptable. how wide are the walls?

the original, for people with more money than sense 'wow factor', is for sale for 7K as is the rest of the 'stuff' if you like it sorry, i've had a few friday night reds.

three lugs on the standard and two on the door and whilst not necessary , unlike slotted screws, it does look as though care has been taken if screws are +. whatever the clearance is on the hinge side, the top and striking side should all be equal.

Kwikstage scaffolding questions

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kwikstage-Staircase/223516457548?hash=item340a9e7a4c:g:P6wAAOSwZFlc3A2N , i always limit my searches to the minimum, 'kwikstage', 'scaffold', 'quikstage' done on a regular basis you see what has come up since last view. -
my bordeaux mixture comes in a 75cl bottle and i wouldn't wash a wall in it.

Getting a Valuation for Land with Planning Permission
Simplysimon replied to Pemu's topic in Costing & Estimating
OH had an estate agent look at our plots when things were going t1ts up with the build to see whether it would be viable to sell. estate agent deals in farms, estates, plots and high value houses, they knew what plots were going for and the price was quite good. i had no intention of selling as plots were a good price and location is ideal. i suppose it's different up here as opposed to being in a city. -
Kwikstage scaffolding questions
Simplysimon replied to Vijay's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
it'll sell new or used, if 5k cheaper, that's 5k saved. if it costs 10k to buy, sell for 8k, 3 years of scaffold for 2k. i'm buying second hand for about the same price as having it hired and erected but that price was for the duration of the kit erection. i'll need to pay to have it erected, i can do it myself but insurance is another matter, it will also be up for as long as i need it. i reckon i will sell it for more than i'm buying it, unless it goes to another buildhubber. there were stairs on ebay for £450 for 5, so not excessive. i think the biggest problem will be getting them 2nd hand -
@simplepimple what about swapping bed 1 with the bathroom/stairs, bringing the stairs up the dormer, putting the ensuite across the rear and leaving the rest as bedroom?

i would definately have got the bbq out and some marinade

i'm presuming it was a mixer, a shovel and barrows as if it was by jigger then it shouldn't have ended up like that? even if it was surely they could have run a straight edge over it as they went waiting for the next mix to be ready?

Would 10 Watts (LED) over illuminate an 8'x6' garden shed.
Simplysimon replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in Lighting
do the sensible thing then, get someone else to go to the shed and push the buttons in the dark. -
going back to your idea of marmox, it's a 7kn building material, i would imagine it should be durable enough as a threshold as the surface is quite tough.

Sealing up trickle vents?
Simplysimon replied to MJNewton's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
take the vent covers off, stick some clear gorilla tape over the holes. would suggest masking off the outside area of the covers prior to taping as that stuff sticks! trim back after refitting covers. -
looking good, next question, how are you minimising the gap between treads?

no handrail on the other side? or is there a wall still to be erected? surprised at bc decision

steel staging is galvanised, and even with galv creep it will still rust due to the demands and abuse it gets. you really should finish your house before the rust becomes structural! -
in the last house we had a nat gas rangemaster, it was 20yrs old when we moved out in january. was as good as the day it was bought and nothing went wrong in that time. don't know whether the quality is the same now though.

ASHP - can they be too big and what to look for on eBay
Simplysimon replied to Roz's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
also looking at his feedback, he's sold a lot of cameras. you don't tend to own that many so where is he getting his stock? -
what is the detail for across the window/door at the bottom?
-
but what have you spent on cr4p ones so far? sell it when you're finished, and you should be so lucky!
