Just in case anybody is in the position of needing a certain bend you don’t have. They can be heated gently and made any shape you want. Have had to do it many times.

Yep, in the last year I have had one man on site for two days, that’s it nobody here apart from me. Today i fitted 125 kg of staircase, I did stop a few times and wondered who I could get for a couple of hours to give me a hand. But all in now. Painfully slow but I think I will be £200,000 in front by the time it’s finished

Why not just install a duct with a pull cord in.

View (glass) vs energy efficiency (walls)
Russell griffiths replied to WWilts's topic in New House & Self Build Design
TBH that doesn’t look like a lot of glass at all, looks like a fairly standard build. I also don’t consider north to be a problem. -
You will probably find that in the last 50 years the house had central heating installed as well as numerous bathroom changes, every plumber that did a job would have hacked a chunk out of the joists to get their pipes in, sometimes leaving very little meat holding it all together. The loft joists will be in a better condition as pipes and cables would have been run on top instead of through the joist. If you you are going full out loft conversion you will probably be better off ripping all the ceiling joists out and replacing the whole roof, will work out quicker to start with all new or even loft trusses and a crane, will be all installed in a couple of days.

Can you get somebody to stick a camera down it. If it’s not in use it will save you a grand having to change it. -

You can get seconds of proctor membrane on e bay roll it out and secure with battens, then rip it off and throw it away. You will throw any tarpaulin away anyhow as it will be ripped to shreds, all the pointy tops on the trusses will punch through on the first night. The blocks will not care about being wet, you will see it all dry out in a couple of weeks after the roof is on, you will start to see a change in colour after a couple of days as the moisture pulls out of the blocks. Stop worrying and get the facia on.

Cold water manifold, how big is toooo big
Russell griffiths replied to Russell griffiths's topic in General Plumbing
I asked this question long ago as I was confused, mine are going in this week, 3 manifolds in total cold hot hot return. The hot return is for the hots that have a distance to travel the kitchen and one bathroom are right next to the plant room so just a normal hot feed to them. -

DO NOT DEMOLISH IT BEFORE YOU HAVE YOUR NEW PLANNING IN PLACE. just because you have a piece of land does not guarantee you will get the new planning. -

I think @trialuser is talking about a press fit system that you need the clamping tool, best part of a grand.
