  1. Who the hell cuts spotlights in first?! Crazy. If you ceiling is less than 2.4 do in full. That being said if was 1800 or less on 600 centres I'd be using the offcut.
  2. I deserve a thanks off you for pointing it out before you had it skimmed...
  3. Why does a riser need a seal? Some have them others are a tight fit. If you've got waste backing up to riser levels it's going to get cleared pdq so no risk of long term leak.
  4. Won't you have a mare trying to fit that vent on the mvhr? It's right on the join between flat and vaulted.
  5. I've worked with some very thorough eastern Europeans. Not shy of a long day either.
  6. No they don't give a s**t generally, especially if site lads working on a price
  7. This is why people use engineers to set out, They're all indemnified against these kind of cockups. Still a digger driver could dig wrong side of the line though.
  8. I did the same with woven fabric, scuffed the plant up and sprayed. Think I may have even used a bit of fairy in the mix one year - probably you who suggested it! I don't know if its a gradual process less infested each year but after around 3 or 4 years spraying it I can't remember getting it the last year. That's not to say I didn't get other weeds though! Is this what you've found it reduces over time?
  9. I had mares tail which is also waxy and roughed it up a bit with my boots before spraying.
  10. What thickness is one of those finished wall products like fermacell is it? Seen some thin partitions in 90s cheap new builds prob like 75mm overall finished

    Flexible caulk

Like I say tiny gaps but still needs caulking

    Flexible caulk

125 or 175 @PeterStarck? The 175 is available at toolstation
  13. Just buy square twist then no point having 2 types of nails on the job. One nail will do both jobs, the other won't.

    Flexible caulk

Gaps are tiny I think that's the problem not enough material to flex. If you read that 175 mds they reccomends 5mm gap! Interesting though it says vinyl matt paint is very inflexible so is usually the paint cracking not the caulk

    Flexible caulk

Overbuild 175 looks to be a contender designed more as a sealant than caulk think these seem to be more flexible

    Flexible caulk

Cmon then whats the best make in peoples experience? I've tried a few still not found the best caulk to resist cracking. I can safely say Brewers own brand is rubbish
  17. Always use square twist as that's what I get for any flooring hangers etc. You could get a bag of clouts and test him, if he goes to use these on any of your hangers bin him off.
  18. My normal wacker would fit in that trench.
  19. No no no. Square twist nails
  20. Forgot to say I'm your other thread but hopefully your chippie should know. I leave all the cutouts round stairwell 100mm or so oversize. Cut back at first fix. If sweeping water over these edges and putting ladders up etc it's nice to cut back to a fresh edge when all watertight.
  21. Stepped invert backdrop for inspiration. Not perfect but has done the job for 18 months without issue. No rest bend just couple of 45s. Was a storm on same level hence stepped invert
  22. I think going through a noggin is a lot less important than going through a stud. Not sure i'd want a 75mm hole in 89mm CLS
  23. 2 days is fine you're not going to do it in one if complex and nobodies going to kill themselves to earn half a day the next day. I would guess his truss estimate is miles out. Something like that take a Joey and me a week with all the bits and pieces, valley boards fascia soffit etc
  24. Also depending how complex the layout 2 days is plenty. I can do a pair of semi's in a day with a good labourer
