  1. not sure if you're worried about the cost or the consumption, but an E7 tarrif might help /we've just received the last quarter's bill and for our 260m2 non-passiv it's an average of 30kWh/ day total consumption. On a cooler day a full half of that is for heat into the slab during the E7 period.
  2. triggering DHW production 5 or 10 mins before a large demand certainly works- but it takes this long for the ASHP to ramp up in my experience.
  3. isn't that what you're paying the removals firm for?
  4. Inside rubber looks like it comes out first?
  5. how does the pump know to turn on, is there level sensing in the trap or does the pump run pulling air in too?
  6. neither cheapo gauges nor thermo actuators are known for beong terribly accurate. You can dial them all in to match a standard device if you've the time and patience...
  7. what "rating" do they need to have?
  8. I've used the same pump that's used on these, in a solar HW system. The pump is actually surprisingly powerful for the current involved.
  9. so does this mean that the short heating periods youve set might not even be fully satisfying the tank currently?...
  10. the mount and shaft *should* be universal but there are some outliers. Direction of rotation and pipe positions are the critical bit, some of the other options (position of the regulator etc) may not be so important for most applications...
  11. tell us what burner and boiler it is, and do you know the direction of rotation? or if you're stuck there's always https://www.bes.co.uk/universal-oil-pump-16393/
  12. no they couldn't, no smart meters in NI
  13. *think* isn't good enough, what's the number? Buildup?
  14. coz they fail often and drip gently. When working fine, you'll get a small volume of trapped air- at system pressure- above the internal float that'll hiss impressively when you slacken the schrader cap.
  15. just check the wired adaptor isn't disabled in Windows
  16. The copper flexys are handy sometimes. Our chinese friends offer convoluted stainless tube (similar to the tracpipe or the flexy solar stuff) in short lengths with flat faced ends for a few quid a touch, they're quite nice too. Same is used inside UVCs as the HE coil this kinda thing: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002680190702.html
  17. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155873410030 ?
  18. still that's enough to upset the match as the illumination is quite oblique. Turning the sample 90degs would likely give a very different result. / with the automotive spectros, there are instructions from each paint manufacturer on what type/ grade of polish to clean the surface before reading, etc.
  19. who does free returns...
  20. the spectros that are used for domestic matching are massively different to those used for cars etc. Was the sample board rollered or brush-painted? Much texture?
  21. ...and don't drill through the pipes when mounting it.
  22. so you currently have two fibre modems?
  23. so what was the tank temp and the setpoint?
