I would like to see him use road planings - fines could mean black sand so you want to see a sample 0.5m2 trial patch first

Proper way to do a double 90deg gutter offset
tonyshouse replied to lineweight's topic in Rainwater, Guttering & SuDS
Don’t use screws! Basically one bend as normal, second one has to be cut immediately at the dot at the top of the s line. Then clip it to the other one as if it was a bit of gutter if you get desperate it is possible to heat up and reform the bend, squeeze it and cut it to mate with the second one. They don’t male street gutter bends final potion use 135 bends and a bit of lead to redirect water over the missed bit -
I would rake cement into the sand 8:1 - common practice to level out undulations. Sheet insulation would work too

No membrane on top, I would do a layer of reinforced concrete to help stop tiles cracking, yes definitely have movement joints

Sun tunnel install on zinc roof?
tonyshouse replied to Dunny1234's topic in Skylights & Roof Windows
Sun tunnels are best suited to hotter countries with brighter skies. A roof light would be a better option here, zinc can be soldered/braised to form upstands and a shallow pitch roof kit used or just diy 3g glass panel with downturns -
Nice but majority are not properly airtight, instead passing and looking airtight but really only plasterboard tents.

Has my roofer put my tiles on properly?
tonyshouse replied to Azrim91's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
There will always be silly little bits in a valley, even with a dry valley -
If the test holds at 40mm for a couple of minutes then you should get a pass.

Insulate underneath 2 to300mm and pipes above with a sealed air void or spreader plates. Where can the heat go? It has to warm the floor turning it into a radiant floor. my floor sometimes has ufh, rarely but flow temp is never above 20 and with people, lighting etc the room is slightly warmer

Why do you want screed? It will work without it

You can never get the soil stack to hold more than the shallowest trap holds, plug the top of the svp and the manhole then push the manometer hose through a trap, WC is easiest blow in some air or water, the guage should stay at a positive pressure marked with a pencil after a few mins and not leak away to nothing 50mm of difference in level would be good but with shallow seal traps 38mm might be the best you will get

Has my roofer put my tiles on properly?
tonyshouse replied to Azrim91's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
That is not really a problem, the head lap on the whole gable looks a bit short and I would rather have seen them overlapping more into the valley. New lead was a must do in my book -
No decorators remove doors ! I like satin but H&S is pushing us away from oil based I no longer use white or brilliant white at home preferring off-white, natural calico or creams of various shades
