Can a Raspberry Pi run android software
PeterW replied to dogman's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
I was typing something similar to @JSHarris but I am intrigued what you are trying to do ..?? Do you want to port the Hikvision software to a RPI..?? IVMS is their viewer for Android and is optimised for portable devices and I'm not sure it would support HDMI as the output is very low resolution. Have you bought the Hikvision recorder ..? RPI can be a cctv server with its own setup. -
So it's now via the Cadent Gas website but takes you to the same NatGrid pages https://nggasb2c.natgrid.co.uk/ngcpt-service/index.html#/b2c/connection/theproperty When you get asked if you want to have x metres on a private property, click the link below it to use the mapping tool.

Why not consider using an ICF block as the basement as that is DIY and ties in well with your floor ..??

Pump me happy. That means the right slump. How?
PeterW replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF)
@recoveringacademic - go find your local supplier and talk to them. Face to face. I have a local, a regional and 2 national companies within 10 miles of the site. The local company : - beat the nationals on price hands down - let me change the order right up to the last wagon left the plant - rang me to check if we were ready on the Monday morning - specced the product for me when we told them what we were doing - delivered a quality product that worked for me and tbh everyone that had to work with it said it was superb, not bad for a flowing fibre reinforced slab at a wicked slump ..! Local concrete company number came via the local skip company owner and verified by the local tool hire place .. get the picture..?? Batching plants aren't difficult to find - a quick google found these guys who do batch mix and pump too which may help you. http://quayconcrete.co.uk/ I wouldn't hesitate to use a local and pay a bit more over using AI or one of the others - they make money by having those wagons on the site for minimum time and you need someone who can work with you. -
National Grid http://www2.nationalgrid.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=24776 Good tool on the site to estimate connection costs too and find the main.

Have you plumbed up those fascias..? They look to be at 90 degrees to the rafters and they need to be at 90 degrees to horizontal. If you can get away with it to double up a batten then do that but don't forget to put eaves support trays and the membrane over the edge with enough to drop into the gutters.

Like @joe90 I will be going with an underground tank and pump system ... just as soon as the build is signed off ..!!

Brett deepflow from Drainage Central is the cheapest I've found and do a discount over £300. Delivery is free and very quick too.
-
The membrane ... pack the gravel in well and it goes nowhere.
-
Brett Plastics deepflow - even the commercial deepflow would look good on that and you can get it in anthracite grey. Fittings are a thing of beauty as no cut ends show...
-
So that's different to what I was told ..... gotta love BT..!
-
Membrane and gravel - you don't need boards in them as they will just rot ..!! Don't try and improve on roman engineering ..!!
-
Nope that's the commercial one. You need the single residential one for one house.

You'll need permission from the sewage provider to connect to a lateral anyway - most publish their developer guidelines online so easy to find out.

BRegs are more concerned about depth and size rather than what goes into each chamber. @RichS If I've read this correctly you are adding a new property to an existing system and then removing the existing property ..?? Or are you saying that you will have house A with a foul drain connection to a main sewer, and then you are adding house B and routing into the existing foul connection ..?? if it is the latter then the existing drain may need upgrading as you are creating a lateral drain - BRegs is not relevant here, the relevant standard from your sewage provider comes into play. Pipework and connections will need to meet those standards, not a small task as they need to be adopted by the provider. The law changed on this a while back and all laterals (those that serve 2 or more properties) are being adopted over time. It is sometimes cheaper to basically dig a parallel trench and have no sharing as you will be running your own connection. Probably not what you wanted to hear ..!!

What's the cladding detail ..?? Is this onto an external frame stood on the plinth or cladding on blockwork..? Have you got a section drawing ..? -
Plinth brick cavity construction
PeterW replied to Peter M's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Sorry so this is just to support the plinth .,? How high are you building it ..? I would sacrifice 15-20mm of the cavity and just go brick on edge if it's only a few courses from DPC. -
Yep .... two pints for breakfast and five at lunch ...!

Pick me up on the way .... you need a big b&stard slide chop saw too that will get to the angles you need on the max timber size you have. I could have saved hours with a sliding mitre that would do 50 degree 8x2...!

We should start a sub forum for those projects that need motivation.... we could take it in turns to provide the motivation (or abuse..) depending on the requirements ..!

I thought that the catnics stopped the twisting of the blockwork over the opening ..?? Check Connells for pricing on lintels - mine were 25% cheaper than the best the merchants could do and that was for non standard ones. Just get them early as their delivery system can be a bit random ...
