Not sure why you would go to 150mm slab tbh. 100mm unreinforced can span 2m under normal loads so 150mm seems overkill for 50% more material cost and the added removal of spoil etc. I've seen slabs crack very occasionally but that is down to poor design usually. Adding fibres is a better solution as the reinforcing is through the entire slab and not just focused into the mid section. If you want pipe protection then go with the Polypipe or Wunda trays and then the pipes are at the bottom. You can reinforce by simply placing A146 over the top which also stops your pipes coming up as well but that's serious overkill for a domestic slab.

Welcome ... Its unlikely that your neighbours own the whole of the stones as the boundary is most likely in the centre of the wall. It would make half each at worst. Working on that part of the roof may require a party wall agreement - how well do you know the neighbours and do you get on ..?

Hmm.... so I do pay on time and I get the respect from my trades that it's a given that if they are on site and working then they will get paid. I suppose the difference is that I use a lot of small or sole traders who I've known for a number of years. There are a couple that I have used for the first time and I've still got an invoice to receive for an unfinished roof however I get the feeling that there are some trades that pretty much insist on paying on immediate receipt and it's always Friday for Monday with us and always has been. Bigger companies I pay on terms, very few get prepayment and that's what annoys the life out of me about utility company connections who won't even do a survey until you've paid ..! The current recourse about the sinking gateway connection for the electricity is that "it was fine when we left...."

Understanding E A rules on waste treatment plant
PeterW replied to joe90's topic in Waste & Sewerage
Oddly it's a very different set of rules. Faecal coliform from human waste and the same coliform (eColi for example) are classified differently. Whilst it's recognised that the pathogens are of a similar nature or in some cases identical, as they haven't come from a human source the risk is deemed lower .... work that out..! -

How about sticky velcro..? Or get MrsJSH to run it through her sewing machine..? You could then velcro the edges to the frame and also to each other

I have the same issue and the sparky is running the cable back out to a box with one of these in it http://sinolec.co.uk/en/rewirable-socket-plugs/1211474--ip68-waterproof-3-pole-plug-and-socket-cable-connector-32a-450vac.html -

Due to a little change of plan I need to move the MVHR unit - downside is that it will be at one end of the house so I've got to extend the ducting runs accordingly. One that makes no sense to extend though is the dual run to the downstairs wc and utility room as they are next to each other and the wc is 900x1800 and the utility is 1600x2600. I'm thinking that the wc has the "requirement" to have the higher flow so if I went into there then out of the plenum to the utility I can control the flow pretty well ..? Seems to make sense to do that than run a second 15m run of duct just to do a small room. @bpc ventilation is this feasible ..?

Right @joe90 I've got .... - 250 UVC with a HP coil. Immersion for legionella control and nightly boost to 65c - 90 litre buffer (std direct cylinder) for the UFH and as a preheat for the DHW via plate heat exchanger - 9KW ASHP All on E7, no PV...
-
There is a separate thread running for this now in Market Place
-
@joe90 go for a 250l HP UVC and you won't be far wrong... price difference for 200-250 is buttons.

@Nickfromwales it's on FMG for now ...

Errr add me to that ..!! 250 litre HP UVC ..!

Probably ..... treat the tank like a low loss header - tee into the top and bottom connections so that the tank bridges the flow and return. Boiler to one side, UFH to the other. UFH will pull from the tank as needed - if the boiler pump is running it will just use the least resistance flow which is to go via the tank. You could always put it in as the final "radiator" in the circuit too and wire the tank stat and room stat in parallel so it keeps going once the rooms are satisfied but that may need you to do some clever controls

You need this stuff - had a container painted with it about 8 years and its only just starting to peel and I reckon that was poor prep !! Done in green they blend right in... https://www.johnstonestrade.com/product/agricultural-oxide

Turn the container upside down then the hole will be on the bottom..... You've got lights on the digger - off you go...
