  1. All the Geneva / Suffolk / Mexicano doors are not the same - quickest way to check is look at the weight. The TP and Wickes ones are mix and match, the Howdens ones are not as clean on the grooves as the others and the ones made by XL Joinery weigh about 10kg more than the others as they are semi-solid core.
  2. Today will be powered by this .... lots of it ....
  3. I can vouch for his first statement ....
  4. Quote of the day from @newhome.... ”...can you turn the heating down, it’s too warm...”
  5. Loving the choc block ... could have put a Wago in there for 28p....
  6. There are better and cheaper options ..! I would go Pert/PEX and the Ivar manifold as per the recommendation from @Nickfromwales or a full set from Wunda Trade
  7. Not been without its challenges ..! Proper team effort and there is a growing pile of brass and scrap copper that is just surplus to requirements ..! And an abject lesson to anyone who has a thermal store - order one with a built in coil rather than a PHE and save yourself half a ton of scrap ..!
  8. Don't even speak about CPC..!!! Sent a part by UPS on a paid for Saturday delivery and forgot to say it wouldn’t be delivered... til Tuesday ..!! Which according to the UPS Polish call centre is “Next Working Day”....!! But on the up side, the main display now shows this ...
  9. We tried that earlier and got an error .....
  10. I was going to say it wasn’t last night however when we finished it was past midnight ...
  11. 4 milk crates and some battens and job done. You don’t need stilts ... My plasterer uses one of the aqua crates as a hop up - works really well and he just kicks it about where he needs it.
  12. Pipe is pipe - ask him what manifolds he is planning to use as thats the killer question. Most of the newer pipe lays flat anyway -JG is a bit pricey but the off cuts can be used for plumbing afterwards unlike the 16mm standard PEX stuff that needs converters.
  13. @Nickfromwales says to step away from the float and trowel......

    The Wee House Company

I remember seeing them before and when I heard the price I thought it included the plot... need to work on the economics and could seriously make money !
  15. All depends on the roof covering too - this is a decent video from one of the in- and on- roof suppliers.
  16. Do you know the thickness of the celotex..?
  17. @newhome what’s the ground floor construction as that seems way off ...?!
  18. Is that the generic wiring diagram of the one that was with the heat pump ..??
  19. You lot have no sense of adventure ..!!
  20. Make as much as you can lay ...
  21. The mapei stuff ... https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-keraquick-rapid-set-flexible-tile-adhesive-grey-20kg/7390v
  22. Ironmongery Direct - the basic ones are pretty good, they do a kit now and then with the latch and hinges free with the handles and not had a problem. Howdens also do decent ones one but silly money unless you have an account.
  23. According to my mate it’s tanking adhesive - most German bathrooms are done with a tanking system.
  24. Get the steel and use as a scraper to take the green edge off and it will be fine.
