  1. regarding "flood level" of the foul drain vent, you mean the level that lines up with the top of the sink in your bathroom ??
  2. Thank you JSHarris and PeterStarck for responses. Our BCO has approved durgos and venting the drain. However i am reading a lot of plumbing posts on other fora. Some plumbers say that if you have only durgos you will have a smelly house. Some also ridicule the competance of BCO's to recommend such a system. Have your durgos ever let you down ?
  3. I'm just posting this again because it may have got lost now; Any thoughts about durgos that are specified to be fitted below flood level. Eg Marley 82 SVD3 My sloping ceilings are making it hard to site the durgo above flood height so these could be the answer. They could fit in the eaves.

  5. I made a similar choice to Zoe. It's hard to know what will happen; you want to make "fool proof" plans before the final finish. Even if the rads are hardly ever used, you have to think if it really was cold for sustained period would you want to be scrabbling together electric heaters or just turning on the rads. I picked up that electic wall heaters for occasional use do not reflect well on EPC's ? Another reason for rads maybe.
  6. We are going for open plan living and UFH in an anydrite screed 50mm If we should later decide to partition off a room in years to come, we would obvously not drill or hammer into the floor where there is a risk of piercing the pipe, but are there any other implications of studding when there are UFH pipes going underneath the stud partition ? Thanks
  7. I have a distrust for pipe because in the past it has had a bad rep as it degraded over time and did leak for some people. It didn't like getting too hot, also certain metals it did not like .... either copper or iron ... i can't remember now. Nick will know
  8. I can't see buffer tank on the quote ...how big are they ?? There is something called an automatic bypass, and also manifold and on another page; "install manifold and control system under boiler location" which could mean anything
  9. 75mm PIR (limited headroom) Prob liquid 45 to 75mm, as current floor is sloping Gas
  10. Thanks for your reply Peter As the pipe cannot be easily replaced once under a screed and will be there for a very long time, it does concern me more. He will use John Guest manifold
  11. My potential plumber has quoted to do the lot includeing all the underfloor heating. I asked him what pipe he proposed and he said 'John Guest'. Any comments about this brand? Or what may be a better option or are they all about the same ? their guarantee is 'only' 25 years. he says it's quality gear. The lay flat video shows that it is very easy to lay ... maybe that is why he is so keen?
  12. No From the quote we supply sanitryware kitchen sink and towel rails
