  1. and then there is the stress of building control. when you're building waaay beyond what they need/want they can still be utter (insert your own term here) and nipick any/all small details just to prove they have the power.
  2. @Patrick has done a portal out of timber i beams, may be worth considering?
  3. so is there a course mesh filter inside or is it just straight in to unit?
  4. i have been meaning to ask about external filters. the outer casing is one of these and the holes seem quite large, would fixing some stainless insect mesh inside be useful to cut down the amount of larger debris which could be taken in?
  5. i was always under the impression cls same in 63 & 89 x 38 and any thing else that has come along since is regularised, but i'm not canadian
  6. to a fair extent, and it doesn't seem to clog the gun and when it does get too clogged to foam properly the cleaner works a treat.
  7. smartply is for your vapour barrier and the medite is breathable for the warmcell cellulose insulation
  8. more interesting to see them drop a little Lsd take in some home made cookies?
  9. but which one is better/more fun/ more interesting?
  10. nope, any competent joiner should be able to design and build stairs
  11. the planet needs population control, it doesn't really matter if it's natural disaster or human intervention/stupity.
  12. i'd be looking at 100mm concrete on top of 200mm PIR and fill the rest with hardcore/ EPS
  13. anti capillary drip
  14. + all new builds must achieve passive levels of insulation, air tightness and levels of minimising overheating
  15. welcome to the forum, could i politely suggest you spend less time drinking gin and do perhaps an hour a weekend?
  16. biggest issue with grp is ensuring base is completely dry and the reason we went with epdm, ended up with firestone, loads of places do video tutorials
  17. i think he wants it removed before his great, great grand kids die 😂
  18. timber i beam, thought 350's went to 7.5 but you would need min 400mm james jones joists
  19. 350mm i beams at 300mm centres, makes for a solid floor
  20. do you know the plumber well or are there other good plumbers in the area for future use?
  21. if plumber was brought in by builder and he invoiced builder in feb, then you have no contract with him and are not liable imho. i would suggest the £1500 is all that's payble to him by you.
  22. welcome to the forum, they'll definately sand, look quite flat so minimal sanding. the only issue will be the gaps in the t&g, glue and sawdust will do the job or leave as is. wax is hard to put on in a large area but easy to touch in after, varnish is easier to start but more difficult to touch in when it wears
  23. check your finished height as you can ask them to add a riser which they heat weld on. you can get different risers to suit afterwards 150 and 300mm from memory
  24. also on countryfile this evening there was a mention of 'water neutrality' and a ban on building due to that. it was to do with the amount of water being used.
  25. with b&b floor presumably 2 x dpm due to isulation, how much water is going to come up through. i was under the impression you could lay b&b on the ground.
